well at least when we had him we were winning flags, dick pratt probably won't see one whilst he breathes air but then again he loves the club so much that he knows the players names as well as my grandmother who can't speak english.

You're kidding aren't you. Like most players that played for Collingwood in that era, he did not play in any premierships. Get your facts right champ.

He was talking about John Wren Bee - been dusting off his ancient history books. ;)

We came close but stuffed up 1980. Can't for the life of me remember who played in the GF that year but I do remember it was a record belting at the time. Oh wait.................

Mmmmm..... hey wasn't it the same club we bent over the year before AND the year after?

It's like playing with children. *retracts claws*

Well Melbourne would have had 6 in a row but who stopped them in 58 oh yeah that was the greatest upset in grand final history but i've forgotten who beat them, can you please remind me?

M10 there are people on this board who's parents weren't even born '58 - very, very small care factor hey.

well in the 19 years i've been alive carlton and collingwood have both won 1 flag, therefore you are saying i should only focus on them and forget about what happened before 89?

Nah, just focus on our last encounter and forget about what happened before it :D

Debatable. Think we take the upset record with one half of footy.

How in hell did this go from Daisy to Wearmouth and Wren?

Mmmm let's see, might have something to do with a couple of 'visitors' trying to p!ss on our turf but quickly found themselves p!ssing into the wind. ;)

31 shots to 26, bad kicking, I wonder if they still did the place kick in those days? :p

great comeback in 1970 not really an upset though, nobody gave collingwood a chance in 58, melbourne had spanked us by 10 goals 2 weeks earlier and everyone thought the result would have been similar to that previous encounter

Not really, barely the odd 'drop kick' in the game by '70. McKenna was recognised as one of the first, pure exponents of the standard 'drop punt' as we use today. Mostly mongrel floaters and torps around that time though. Have a look at the game, it's GREAT watching. :thumbsu:
