Anyone hear his interview on 6pr tonight?
I missed a lot of it but he was saying there were 3-4 guys on the gear when he was there.
Said he found out from a group of players the day after one particular player had been traded that he had been on the gear in a big way.
The club then informed the AFLPA of the knowledge they had. This player is still playing good football at another club, although he wouldn't name them.

I must say I was cringing more than a little.

He also pinned the PR mob by saying "I am 3000 miles away and I have known for three months what happened to Chad Fletcher...and you blokes can't tell me that you don't know what happened!!!" Cue much throat clearing, paper shuffling and a meek "well...yeah" from Barra

Yeh we need to not be too 'holier than though' about the benny thing. We possibly dodged a bullet last season and it could be us at some stage in the future

That classic bit aside , Drummie made a lot of sense about having the AFL mandate that the clubs train players for things other then footy & playstation.

As far as I can make out the only blokes still playing that got traded off under Drummies reign are Clement , Holland & Sinclair.

Well I can take one off that list, then a ringwood boy who looks like a surfy, nah. Leaves me with one ................. a Z grade celebrity.

I play footy with someone who showed a dozen or so Dockers players around London when we had the exhibition match, coz hes best mates with one who also played at our club and had been living in London for three years. Took em out to all the good clubs etc...

Later when they went back to the hotel, at least 8 or 9 were doin lines of cocaine.

We have drug users as welll unfortunately, though not such stupid ones and possibly not as regtular.

BTW, I wouldn't piss in your pockets about something like this and there is no doubt that it is true.

All clubs would have a healthy % of drug users. The only difference is some clubs players are a bit too blatent about it.

I remember the after the trading was completed in 2000, Drummie came out and said that Holland was the only one he was really disappointed to lose... Take from that whatever you might.

Gee am I really reading this!!!Are cetain people here mentioning names as if they are suspects?WOW i certainly would not be doing that.Must have lots of money and a good lawyer.Shees people you really are tempting fate.
Though you use a nick name here you most certainly are not anonymous if they want to find out who you are.
Though it is a forum for footy discussion you certainly do not have the right to Name names even though you may think it is true. You are still liable for libel.

I don't think anyone really _CARES_ if footy players do lines of coke (look at Ben, if he is always on the junk it doesn't affect his playing). As long as they make sure there is none left on their sleeve as they come out for the media interviews we shouldn't care.

That's the problem really, when it becomes public. It's like how we all know Pavlich masturbates, but unless we see him doing it on the TV we don't really care do we. The problem with drugs though is some ******s take some moral ground "it's illegal - hence I'm against it - and so would Jesus". If people only get their morals from the law... well... cough... guess we're all a little immoral when we go 1KM over the speed limit.

Don't take this the wrong way, but this is the worst pile of drivel I've ever seen. Your choice of words and analogies is appalling, and no, I'm not sitting on any high horse.

Wasn't one of the reasons he got rid of Clement is that he didn't understand why Clement would want to "waste time" doing a uni course? I guess Drummy's also grown up a bit.

Yeah agree. Silly comments.

I actually care quite a bit about drugs being cracked down on in sport. Professional football is full of young men with heaps of spare time, and often some handy income. Add to that the types of people who can be attracted to the clubs and nightspots they frequent, and the players can easily become targets, or at least it appears that way. A young player seeing someone like Cousins involved in could easily be enticed, and see it as just part of the lifestyle.
