After 10 years, 140 odd games, 5482 clangers, 592 missed tackles and 7980654 bad football decisions on the field, Dan Jackson has arrived as an AFL footballer.

Dare I say it, he tore GJ a new one.

Our best player yesterday, offensively and defensively.

I have officially taken a brace position.

Not sure I'd go that far, although maybe as far as Gary can be "tore a new one". Anyway it's great to see Dj getting up and about. Fantastic to see him work hard defensively & hit the scoreboard too :thumbsu: I've always been a supporter of Daniel.

I think he has always been here but he has now become a pivotal player in our side. A year or so back he was getting games because our depth meant little pressure on his place in the best 22. Thus far this season I would expect him to be close to the lead in the Jack Dyer medal and well done to him. He has been our most consistent player to date and his kicking has "cough" improved.

I am liking the 2013 version of Dan Jackson, I want to see more though if i can :thumbsu:

Go Jacko! We all know he stands up in tackles, runs hard, tackles, but this year he is also kicking goals.

2 goals straight last night, when we kicked 6.17

1 goal straight last week, when we kicked 8.18

3.1 the week before.

10 goals 6 for the season to date. His best goal kicking season was 2012, with a total of 10 goals (and 13 points).

His career stats, see below.

Also he is on 49 career goals, so 1 goal away from 50 AFL goals, not a bad effort considering he was a tagger for most of his career and a "try-as-hard-as-you-can" type midfielder.

Whilst at times during his career his "mistakes tally" has been huge and his decision making hasn't been the best, one thing you can never question with this bloke is his work ethic and will-to-win. He just tries his heart out for the Yellow And Black jumper. I reckon every team needs one these types of players and I'm happy we D. Jackson in our side.

2013 has been a great season for him. Well done.

Yes I must say I have changed my view of him - he is a very much improved player this season - and all the best to him for it.
While I wasn't impressed with his poor disposal, what used to drive me crazy, was his demanding the ball in front of goal, then consistently missing.
He's not doing that this year.

Although they are different players, I remember Chance Bateman being a waste of space at Hawrhorn for many years before finally maturing into a very good footballer in his last 4-5 years.
Maybe the penny has finally dropped?
Dan also mentioned he had been working on his decision making and kicking in the off season which is all credit to him and shows its never too late to apply and develop what talent you have.

He's been good all year.
