I haven't been able to watch the last couple of games closely - I've been at work and had to listen to them, follow on Twitter etc. I keep reading about Dangerfield walking around like he thinks he's the best thing since tap beer - aside from the fact that he has a natural strut on him, can anyone actually give me some evidence that he thinks he is brilliant and how it is somehow affecting his football?

I'm all for bagging players for effort and that sort of thing but by the sound of it, we're just starting to look for reasons to criticise people.

For example yesterday he had it 33 times, 80 per cent efficiency (not that efficiency should ever be indicative of effort anyway, but I digress), 6 tackles - second highest for the team - 15 contested, 7 marks, 7 clearances - and we're potting him because of the way he walks?

Dangerfield is a long way from being the problem.....he's playing alongside some very average footballers.
Would help if he could just hit one target inside 50.

Disagree.

It's not that he's not putting in - when the ball is near him he absolutely is. But I would say a few of our players yesterday, and against Collingwood, were on cruise control. They were working hard in patches, but not for the entire game and definitely not when they didn't have the ball. It's fair to point out too that Dangerfield wasn't the only one. His disposal was better yesterday, but I thought against Collingwood it was absolutely atrocious. Again, he's not alone in that.

Like the rest of our midfield over the last two weeks, he seems to be picking and choosing when to go hard. It is no surprise that our "zone" defence, much vaunted after the Corws & Eagles games, has been easily broken the last fortnight. It isnt a change in personnel so what else can it be other than effort?

It could be just mindset. It doesn't mean they've all become crap players, because they clearly haven't. A small amount of refocusing, and working a bit harder when they don't have the ball, and things could turn quickly.
