My Guess is:
Geelong get = Patrick Dangerfield
Adelaide get = GHS , 2015 Pick 1 and 2016 Pick 2.

Not what i have heard from inside the cats camp (3rd hand but source has been annoyingly close to the money), 1st this year, 1st next year and a player. They have been hashing it out since late August.
Lets face it 1st next year could be better than this year, It's not like getting Danger is going to make up for the the aging list that is Geelong (sorry Cats fans but those is the facts no matter how much you sail the river in Egypt). He might keep them out of bottom 4 but pick 5-8 next year could be very sweet.

Dwayne is a knob, but his article is spot on - draft picks are insanely over rated, and people need to stop being morons over them.

Is Danger worth 3 first round draft picks?

Easily - out of those 3, you'll be lucky to get one player who is of the quality to win a single AA selection; the chances of winning a Brownlow would miniscule.

Draft picks are a lottery, and their value against a known, elite, commodity is very low.

Put it this way, if Fyfe demanded a trade to us tomorrow, and Freo asked for our first round pick this year and next year, as well as our second round pick in either of those years, would you do it?

I've seen quite a bit of GHS in the VFL over the last 3 years, he has not come on one inch, ordinary speed, more outside than inside, doesn't find enough pill, best point of difference neat disposal when in the clear......the very personification of vanilla....there is a reason Geelong and it's supporters are putting him forward apart from the fact he's from SA. Murdoch is the least we should be going after as he does add something we really need, outside speed and a reasonable skillset.

I honestly believe next years 1st round from Geelong may well be a top 10 pick.
They've lost Kelly, Johnson & Stokes, their ruckmen are injury prone.
They literally have no backline, Enright was great this year but he's getting older, so are the other lot. Lonergan hasn't been that great, the other bloke that came from Melbourne has just retired (Rivers).

Realistically they could finish bottom 6.
Don't think Henderson's going to make that much of a difference to their KPP stalls, we all know how Frawley went at Hawthorn, Henderson isn't that good..
Danger may well make a difference but their clearances won't be as clean when he's getting the ball out of the middle.
Also at a time where they should be rebuilding with draft picks, they've taken the top-up option by getting Dangerfield, IMO not a great idea.

Just the counter argument; we just missed out on the finals having the equal hardest draw this year and our worst year injury wise in the past decade.

Our backline is fine Enright and Taylor are solid. Kolo and Thurlow are jets.

Add to that Hawkins dealing with the death of his mother. Duncan not playing. Selwood playing most of the season with a broken hand.

We will have a much easier draw, akin to the one you had this year, and a fuller list of players to chose from - we will bounce right up again quickly.

Finally, Selwood had some kicking issues that were rectified in the space of a single-off season.

Id rather we send him to the psd than geelong give up nothing trade wise. Ease up mate im on your side. Theres a big difference between lever and sellar. One can play one cant.

but you are right, especially after losing Tippett for nothing (or infact, negative draft picks) Adelaide aren't going to send Danger to the draft... the only people talking about that is BF

They want to add Henderson, Dangerfield, Selwood, Zac Smith.

They had quite a number of injuries and they will receive a much easier draw next year. I think they will easilly finish between 4th and 8th next year.

Even if they finish 8th in 2016, Pick 9 (2015) and pick 12 won't be sufficient. We can not accept any future draft pick. We need that tangible pick this year that won't change.

Selwood is an RFA and can't get a game at west coast. West coast may not match and just take the compo.
