I cannot believe people who actually think Geelong don't have the currency to satisfy us.

I get this. We need paddy to come to the party to really put the pressure on though.

I'm hoping we play hardball all the way through.. OR have sufficient dominoes lined up that a quick settlement for unders translates into a decent outcome by the end of it all.

Leverage doesn't come from Danger or Geelong, it comes from us having balls.

Hopefully we're already talking to other Clubs about Paddy entering the draft, and what they would do if he did.

Geelong satisfy us at the trade table, or he goes in the draft/PSD. We should be negotiating with other teams anyway.

He has a choice to not be traded, and go into the draft. Doesn't matter how much someone else offers, if Danger doesn't accept it.

Ok... firstly, we don't know if this IS the deal.

Secondly, Crows may have other trades in the pipeline that can only go ahead when we know the outcome of THIS one.

We were NEVER going to get 2 first round picks for him. EVER. They aren't in the position to do that. We aren't in a position to say no - well, we are, but we'd get nothing. SO, the compromise is a first, a second and a player of dubious quality. Still better than compo of pick 14 alone, and far better than nothing.

I agree, getting it out the way early is a relief. delaying tactics rarely work in negotiations like this one.

The fact that we got more than compo is a credit to the club, not a negative.

When opposition posters come onto the Geelong board I treat them how they deserve to be treated. If they show respect then I show it back. It's quite simple really.

Some AFC posters I get along with and some I don't. If people want to judge me based on what I post to others rather than what I post to them, then that is up to them I guess...

Or may I suggest closing this one and all future trade discussion around Danger heading over to the trade thread? There is double up of discussions happening already and to merge would create a hell of a time for people who haven't been on the board over the weekend etc trying to read the 'unread' posts.

Anyone else believe that some of the proposed trade options for Danger is a little to simplistic and that there is every chance that clubs like Carlton and or Brisbane could get involved to complete a mega deal?
