Can anybody give me a rundown on how he fared in his first season. I am interested to know if he had an impact in the reserves and if he will be a likely contributor for the swans in 08.

Doesn't directly answer your question but I do know that when he was drafted they said they weren't expecting him to break into senior footy in his first year so hopefully he gets a run this year.

My logic is that he will. Everything you have done so far in the off season points to a change in direction. If they are looking to youth next year you would have to think Daniel O'Keefe would be very high in their plans.

Think he missed a few chunks of the season with a groin or hammy injury that he couldnt seem to shake
Most swans fans would be hoping he'll step up for a few senior games this year given how the rest of the bumper crop went but I guess we'll have to wait and see

He came to the club with big wraps on him. I haven't seen him play as yet, but I've heard great things about him. He's a very skillful player and he knows where the goals are also. Will get a game next year for sure.

yes, i get the feeling he's going to turn out a real good'un, apparently has great hands, and is a classy outside runner, the kind of midfield type we need to complement the grunt of the likes of kirk, buchanan, jude bolton, craig bird (fingers crossed) etc

if its the kid im thinking of he will be a gun and reminded me alot of Nathan Brown,would love to have him at the bombers has a big future.could he take over adam schneider's spot next year?
Was injured for practically the whole pre-season so came into the side very underdone. Was in and out of the reserves team with some soft tissue injuries and never looked very comfortable out there even when he did play. His running and kicking style just looked as if he was sore all over.
As a result, it was hard to get a gauge on what kind of player he might become. He doesn't look to lack confidence in his ability (but nor does he seem overly cocky). Sometimes managed to find time and space when there didn't look to be either, but at other times would get caught in possession trying to do too much. Didn't see evidence of any speed, though if his body wasn't right, it is hard to take too much from that. Often his kicking lacked depth (again leading to my supposition that he was playing "sore") but occasionally he'd really let rip at which times he seemed to have plenty enough penetration. Saw him take a few shots from outside 50 that easily made the difference.
He ended the year on the LTIL with a groin complaint so we'll have to hope he's been given plenty of rest and will be able to get a good pre-season under his belt. Hopefully he'll get a few senior games at some point during the year but there are other reserves players who I think are better placed to make an early claim (and hopefully early impact) on a senior spot - Barlow, Jack, White, Laidlaw, Moore and maybe Thorton.

Dan is a good mate of mine grew up with him and played juniors with him down in warrnambool i was talking to him 30 minutes ago actually he is down for the moment, i can tell to you he will be there next year and is confident his body will be okay his body didnt give him any chance to achieve anything last year. Very talented could tell at a yound age he was special, terrific skills and is quick, i would put him in the exact mold as Ryan O Keefe can run up and down the ground with or without the ball and very clever around goals, get excited Sydney fans.
I will. When you next see him can you ask him if he wouldnt mind changing his last name as its going to be very confusing with 2 O'Keefe's running around

DOK is gr8 i think he will do alot for Sydney when Kirky and AMon and players like that leave he is a rising star for Sydney

He will be a player to watch in 2009. Hopefully he will pick up the odd game in 2008.

Saw him play in '06 in the champs for vic country and really stood out i thought.
I really hope he steps up next year along with Currie and hopefully both are given opportunities and then who knows what may happen from there, I believe they could be anything.
