Hey guys, speculation is growing that Rich may slide to pick 6 if this was the circumstance who would you take out of him and hurley. WH has stated that we will take best avaliable so you would think we would take Rich. It would be awesome if it did happen.

If Rich lands to 6, I'll do backflips. Seriously as much as I rate Hurley, or at least as much as others rate Hurley, I would not be hesitant in picking up a player with the quality of Rich.

I know my opinion doesn't count for much, but if the rumours are true, Essendon will go for Ziebell. But that would be before they took into account that Rich may still be there. If Rich is at Bomber's pick they would more than liekly pick him, therefore leaving you with the more likely scenario of having to pick between Ziebell and Hurley...

I'd still take Ziebell over him. I think the main reason he's mentioned in the supposed "Big 3" is that two of the top picks are WA teams.

ATEOTD, Rich has been hyped up to be something that he is not. He is good, no doubt, but he isn't an elite prospect IMO

Agreed, I've seen him play a couple of times, and people say his the next hodge, I reckon his a more Dal Santo type player, where he runs one way and wouldn't work hard enough to shake a tag. I would take the Z man before him.

I really doubt he'll slide that much, but i would be happy to take him, atm in my opinion i rate him the best player in the draft or the most ready to go player. The thing is i don't see a hell of a lot of improvement in him, where for players like hartlett and ziebell they would just grow and grow, but from the game i saw of him great kick, tough at the ball good body for footy, but did struggle with the tag.. but hey we have juddy murph gibbs and steven's who all need taggers so he might not need one lol!!

If Rich lasts til number 6, this either is a really super draft or there is something wrong with the first 5 clubs recruiting managers.
This kid was, imho, a standout in the u/18 champs matches I watched this year. Gets a fair bit of the ball & uses it pretty well.
Also, I remember one particular piece of play where he received a handball about 50m out, turned on to his left side & off 2 steps - pumped it straight over the goal umps head, about 5 rows back....and he just seemed to stab at it with his kick.
I'd love Wayne Hughes to have the difficult option of Rich or Hurley, but I think Rich will be staying in WA.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Freo were tossing up between Yarran and Hill with Essendon taking the one they pass on....Port tossing up between Hartlett and Vickery....could quite conceivably leave us with a Rich/Hurley decision.

i know hurley would be a great get, but should we show more faith in jamison waite bower thornton and austin, after reading the interview with ratts, seems like waite will stay down back, and Jamison is suited for players with the bradshaw, medhurst cloke build, bower has dash and is well suited for the more athletic forwards thornton for the tird talls and if austin can bulk up and get some more games into him he could be the monster we need to tackle the guys like pav and brown.. i just think rich would be a nice icing on the cake of an already awesome midfiled.. but still doubt he'll slide to 6

Rich playing inside would free up Judd and Gibbs to be more damaging players on the outside of the pack.

Double that if Hadley can play 22 games next year.

good point, as hawthorn and geelong show in ther midfields you need a good mix of damaging ball recievers and inside midfielders. like hawthorn have sewell mitchell lewis(can play both) as there inside midfielders and players such as young bateman ellis to carry the ball. Having Rich in there as well as a fit hadley would be good for the likes of stevens gibbs and would take a lot of pressure off judd to extract the ball. Murph's is a bit of both outside and inside midfielder

I don't profess to know much about these kids, but from everything I've seen/read, SURELY Rich would be best available if he still there at 6 and by some measure

All can win contested footy and all are good on the end of a handball too. If we draft Rich I know who Fev would prefer on the end of a handball kicking the pill to him.
