I think there was a change to the F/S bidding process this year that makes it possible to pick the player up in the rookie draft if you declare that you are going to bid for them. If the rules were changed before last year we would currently have Dunnell on our list

Yes we can pick him in the rookie draft this year if no one else bids for him and we want to take him there. As I was saying, we would do this in the F/S bidding period, not "commit" to him in advance.

Agreed, how many VFL players do we need? I'd say Hirdy's cousin Matt Little will be one as well unless drafted. We will need a VFL listed captain as well

He is 25 (today) ... Happy Birthday Ben! I think at that age, he will struggle to get listed. He has been consistent for awhile now, so I would think if he was going to get drafted, he would have already.

Mature aged rookies are all the rage these days, injury hurt his chances last year but I have a feeling someone will give him a shot in 2013
