Do we have a crack at this guy come trade time?

If we can somehow manage a deal that mean's we hang onto a first round pick, then it would definitely be worth looking into.

Freo's first round pick + Murphy + Player/Later pick for Wells + Roo's first round pick?

What do people think.

I think he could come rather cheaply considering he hasn't really found a niche at the Roo's yet.

I think we should give up chasing other teams rubbish. When's the last time he did anything? I can't see how he's going to solve our problems.

I would hardly call him rubbish.

Fast skillful midfielder that can actually kick over a tin can is the exact type of player we need.

If he's going cheap, there must be a reason for it sabre (although, I'm not sure that 2 players and a downgrade of our firstrounder is what I'd call cheap). If he's struggled to find a niche at the Roos, how will he go in our midfield? I can see him being another Des - everyone would expect him to be a superstar and he just isn't.

I don't think the Roos would give him up for anything other than a first rounder.

It is imperative we take and use this seasons first rounder.

If Murphy goes it needs to be a straight trade for either a youngster (quick midfielder - perhaps a Farren Ray type) or for an upgrade in the draft.

With so many young WA players on offer, combined with giving up a first rounder last season .....this year it is vital to use our first 2 round picks to strengthen our list.

How about Haselby + 2nd Rounder?

It is probably fair but in all reality we are going to rate Haselby very high.

As I said I dont think the club can afford to put their 1st or 2nd on the table.

Haselby for Wells IMHO would be a chance in the West but I would suspect the Roos would not go for it.

I still think Hase will sign and has Wells ever indicated he does not want to stay?

Wells ia a 1st round pick minimum...the guy has had a knee injury this year, but will be an All Australian very shortly....magical player.

Murphy for Wells is a joke...Murphy has done nothing. Daniel Schell showed more at full forward than he has playing @ Fremantle. If we get a 1st rounder for him I will be amazed...we'd be lucky to get Farren Ray.

Daniel Wells would be awesome...but with Chris Judd likely to be heading home, I can't see anyone trading anyone until a deal for Judd goes through. Will make for an interesting trade period if Judd is up for grabs

Be a fantastic get but the roos would never trade him unless they got an offer they couldn't refuse. If he was homesick it may be a possibility but again we would have to pay over the odds for him. I don't think the kangas would be overly keen for Murphy. Our 1st draft pick would interest them but they'd still need more.

When was the last time he did anything? Ummm tonight nonghead

Nothing of note, other than a lucky goal that bounced through. He was almost not sighted in the first half, and only bobbed up at the end when the Roos had it all tied up.

That's a good thing though - sounds like you're happy to keep him, and I'm happy for him to stay where he his.

everybody wins.

You're living in a fantasy land if you think we can get Wells and retain a first round pick. The roos wouldn't trade him for Murphy and pick 7. If we threw in Hasleby they'd possibly look at it, but I wouldn't be willing to part with pick 7, Hasleby and Murphy for Wells.

How about Mundy then, dom? ;)

wells is highly rated over at the roos (finished very high in the last two best and fairests i think) so i doubt we would get him cheap. great player but given our trading of draft picks last year i cant see it being a good thing for the club if we go for him as the price would be high..

He's 22 and wants to be a one club player. Club rates him through the roof.

I usually hate the banter that goes on between the fans on here come trade week (ie - give us your first six picks and Pavlich, no lol we'll give you McManus and a fourth rounder etc) but I can confidently say there's absolutely no chance he won't be a Roo in 2008. No chance at all.

mmm - he has settled down in Melbourne. He won't move.

At the start of the year the only player I would think that would be going west would be Andrew Swallow - but he is set to sign (thank god).

If I were Fremantle I'd just hit the draft. Maybe trade Murphy for picks also. Just no more Tarrant's and Soloman's. Hit the draft and pick up more guys like Pavlich.

There are two very good WA midfielders in the draft in Masten and Palmer, and one or both should be around when you pick first. That would be your best bet I'd say.

Thats what I think....
Lets do something really crazy this time and spin everyone out by not trading high draft picks and attempting to get some youth

Hey mate ....:thumbsu:we agree on some things.

Wells would be a good pick up but not to trade draft picks for him. Lets trade some Vics back home to get Wells and Swallow. Also word out of Melbourne that Aaron Davey will be used as trade bait. Would go after him instead.
