From the Herald-Sun;

Earlier on radio, Daniher expressed interest in the possibility of getting Jeff Farmer back from Fremantle. Farmer twice topped Melbourne's goalkicking under Daniher at Melbourne before returning to Western Australia.

Daniher said Farmer always had good mentors when he played at Melbourne, including former captain Garry Lyon who looked after him early in his career.

"When he was just going off the rails, Garry would just look after him and a little bit later on you had blokes like David Schwarz and David Neitz," Daniher said.

"I guess now he should be old enough and mature enough to look after himself and I think he's a bloke who needs a little bit of help around the place."

When Melbourne finished runner-up to Essendon in the 2000 season, Farmer kicked 76 goals and made All-Australian selection.

Daniher said it was always difficult to get players from opposition clubs and because the Demons did not have a lot of dollars, it would also get down to which players would need to be traded.

"Our supporters loved the Wizard and I loved coaching him, but it might be all pie in the sky stuff," he told 3AW.

the only chance Jeffrey Farmer has of getting back to anywhere ner his best is to come back to the place where his heart lies

We've only made one so maybe you should try your own board for that effect.

About to make it 3 in a row.

Although I hope they beat Sydney...

Back on topic, will be very interesting to see what happens if anything, as much as I like watching Farmer, 1 less distraction couldn't hurt, free up a bit of cap space, and maybe get an Armstrong type in return.

Armstrong for Jeff Farmer? your kidding... Melbourne would have to be stupid to trade him. Lets face it you would get nothing for Jeff Farmer. If you are really really lucky you will get away with just giving him away for nothing. If you are unlucky you may still need to pay some of his salary ala Trent Croad.

What, trade someone who isnt getting a game for someone he obviously believes he can help regain top form?

If Armstrong is injured, then I'll accept my error.. otherwise I can see it being a possibility.

Armstrong has definately not progressed as Melbourne had hoped. He played today for Sandringham against Werribee and was OK, for a small player he is not quick, his disposal is average and he is weak.

Average players like Godfrey and Walsh are being selected ahead of him, Sylvia is struggling and even though he has only played a few games, he too is getting a game ahead of Armstrong, not a good sign.

Whether Farmer is involved in the trade or not, i believe there's a good chance Armstrong will be at another club next year

not sure about the homesick factor Pinkus, he has had a couple of niggly injuries, that aside his form has been quite poor at Sandringham

what? Do you melbourne supporters want him back??? are you for real? um... i reckon davey and green and sylvia will be just fine you don't want lowlife farmer surely???

I listened to that interview and Daniher said that it was all "pie in the sky stuff", and suddenly a newspaper decides that means he is "keen to regain Jeff Farmer"
What a leap ! No wonder journalists have no credibility.

And the uniformed sheep at BF - who also rubbish 'the media' - follow said media blindly because it's about Farmer...so anything goes
