I almost forgot, he did mention that Scott Thompson is having an operation shortly & will be out for the rest of this season.

I also heard on radio that Guy Rigoni is near retirement as his back injury (a bulging disc apparently) is not responding to treatment too well. Sad news for Gus, he's a great little player.

Awww thats so sad about gus and his back treatment not working:( Also not good news about scotty thompson! Whats the operation about?

He didn't say.

Just noticed that Yze is 2nd in Kicks on 248 just behind Adam Simpson on 255.

He spoke mainly about the weekend's game, saying he was always confident of winning especially at 3qtr time because we were running so well.

He rated this win slightly behind our win at Subi in 98 because on that occasion we had so many young kids in.

He mentioned that it was strange how the All australian selectors simply didn't rate Dees players, mentioning the 2000 team where we only had 1, and only 2 nominees for this years.

He was asked did he think Wheatley was a Centre Half Forward and replied CHF is a very tough position to play & that he was a good mobile half forward (so I guess he kinda dodged that one) & mentioned Vardy as a mobile forward as well.

He spoke of his admiration of the Ox & mentioned the battle he had training due to swelling in his knees early in the week. He said it was unfortunate to lose his strength mid season but they spoke about it & he didn't want to just be taking up space. He hoped to keep him around as a coach of some sort & didn't rule him out playing again even:eek:  Might've been joking but...

He said Nicko was going well since his operation & that he'd be back for next year. Said also that our Spine was the real focus with the likes of Rogers Molan & Miller not far off the mark but needed time to develop.

Said he was very happy with Clint Bizzell, courageous.

Said the recruiting's been great cosidering that A) we were on the bottom when he got there & B) That we lost picks through salary cap penalties. Said that Simmonds was swapped for Ellis & Pick 24 (Aaron Rogers) & it's been a good deal all round as we needed to replace the likes of Shanahan & Ingerson & that Ellis & Biz have done a great job.

He seems quietly confident this year ;).

I reckon we've done a good job assembling a strong midfield and now we need a few more strong talls to take us the next step.

Great report there mate, thanx a lot for putting it up here!

Reading all that, it does put some confidence in, especially when talking of our spine with Molan, Miller and Rogers. Apparently Rogers was a gun full forward in Sydney, plus Molan and Miller can play either end of the ground.

Sad news about Rigoni and Thompson, best of luck to them!

today.. at training Molan was only on one Crutcher. Sooo looks like things are going quickly, only a few more weeks and he's back in Bussiness:D

Papers say 5 weeks. He may not play again this season and if he does, it will only be for a game. Let him get over the broken leg and get him out there for a big pre-season, we may need him out there next year!

Good work BT!
Shame I missed it but we don't have Foxtel where I was at. I don't know how I survived! Out of all the weeks I had to be away:mad:
Shame about Thompson. However he is still young. On the other hand I think Rigoni's career is over. A real shame but we cannot keep players like him on the list if they are not going to play.
