Is there someone who's able to tell me why Danny Nicholls hasn't been given another chance this season to play at a senior level?
I've noticed his name listed in the best several times recently...:thumbsu:

I think he is what we need. But he just isn't ready for AFL yet. I hope he makes it.

By the way. Cook, Wellingham and Nicholls have all been named in the best plenty of times, but haven't been played. The reason is our list is so deep at the moment that a place in the 22 is priceless.

He looked completely out of his league against WCE in his debut - but having said that, I haven't seen enough to know whether he'll make it in the AFL long-term. Now's not the time to be giving untried kids experience though, we have enough who have already proved themselves.

I think that Nicholls was elevated from the Rookie list for Rusling... therefore now Rusling is fit again he is ineligable.

In fairness to him, he was up against the best midfield in the league on debut (in Subiaco), and played on Kerr for a bit didn't he? But yes, now is not the time to try him again. Cook on the other hand. :D:thumbsu:

I don't know where he's at at the moment. However, I thought he was capable of breaking through the side at the start of the year because he impressed me during the latter part of 2006. As we know, he was very average in his debut, but since then he's worked hard on his game at Williamstown.

Promote/Delist? Promote. Give him another year.

I just like what I'm hearing and from what little I have seen of Sharrod Wellingham. Seems to be exactly what we need and what we are missing. Someone who can go in and get the footy, but has all the skills of an outside mid, pace, poise and good hand and foot skills. A Daniel Kerr type. Seems like he's had a bad time with niggling injuries this season, but hopefully he really presses for selection next year with a good pre-season. Read his interview on the CFC website and seems like he is really determined to make it.

He will make it I think. He looks the goods no doubt. Can't wait to see him out there in black and white. He is exactly what we need. Goldsack, Clarke and Wellingham, may turn out to be our best 3 draftees, with our last pick in the draft and 2 from the rookie draft. Gems!

Good one ! our list is so deep we got smashed by 15 Goals by a team ranked 11th on the ladder.

PRICELESS.

?

Right. Or, you could say our list is so deep that we are looking at finishing top 4 despite our captain and champion Buckley not playing a single game, vice captain, champion and general of the backline Jimmy Clement only playing 5 or so, arguably our best player Alan Didak missing a few games and being well out of form due to a knee reco, our full back Presti missing a lot of games, Rocca missing a few, Rhyce Shaw our drive from half back missing a lot of games, Harry O'brien our gun backman missing a lot, not to mention our replacement for Tarrant (Rusling) missing the year, and other guys like Egan. Oh but that's right, one big loss suddenly turns our list to shit, and all of our players are rubbish! Go and support someone else loser.

P.S. Brisbane are THE in form team of the competition over the last month or so, therefore their 11th place means nothing.

But our list is so deep,so losing a player who is 35 years old doesn,t come into the equation and aside from Clement and Didak of which you mentioned if you struggle to cover three players with a list is so deep tells me the only thing that is deep is the void between your ears.

Who have we struggled to cover? I don't understand how a team who is favoured to be top 4 is "struggling" to cover someone? At one stage we had our starting 6 backline decimated, and still covered it fine. Do you have an education?

My personal opinion is that if we have to give up a senior spot for Nicholls in order to keep him, then he's gone.

I'm an advocate of retaining Wellingham rather than promoting at the end of the year, due to the sheer competition for spots. I'm a big fan of Wellingham.

Don,t need a havard education when dealing with a person who lives in a bubble dreaming that we have a list that is so deep that when Collingwood loses three players of quality Buckley,Clement and Didak for prolonged periods of time states that our list is so deep it,s hard to earn spots.

I hear Ashton Circus is coming to your neck of the woods,so It should be a career defining opportunity for yourself .CLOWN.

That's funny. I'm quite content with the direction my life is taking. You on the other hand, are a worry.

You are kidding yourself if you think it's not difficult to earn a spot in our side. Even when we had injuries, our players at Williamstown couldn't just walk into the side. They had to prove themselves with excellent form, before coming in. Where have you been?

Get back to where you stated our list is so deep,Deep as in what! Proven performers or talented youngsters hoping to make an impact in the big league.

Actually, the notion that spots must be earnt even amidst lots of injuries indicates good depth. Get it?

Depth as in - plenty of quality players causing a spot to be difficult to obtain. What I've said all along. What more needs to be said?

Common sense. Learn it.

Sigh.

Davis, Rusling, Lonie, Didak, Buckley, Holland, Medhurst, Clement, Pendlebury, Obree, Cox, Thomas, Wakelin, Egan, Burns, Licuria, R.Shaw, Rocca, Lockyer, Fraser, Johnson, Maxwell, Obrien, Cloke, Dick, Toovey, Presti, Swan, Goldsack, Heath Shaw, Marty Clarke. 31 players who I am happy with being in the starting 22.

Stanley, Iles and Davies are extra depth players. At least one will make it I think.

Anthony, Brown, Reid, Cook, Dawes and Wellingham who are all promising youngsters.

Then there is Bryan, Richards, Nicholls and Macaffer who aren't much or haven't shown much.

Are we clear? kthx

(44 listed players, maybe you should learn that).

Quality is the benchmark, not the figment of your imagination,of the 44 players you have named how many would get a game with the benchmark, Last years premiers West-Coast! this years bencmark Geelong.
I will say 10.
Didak,Buckley,Clement,Pendlebury,Rocca?Lockyer,Fraser,O`brien,Cloke,Swan,H.Shaw.
25 per-cent of the list.
You call that a deep list, get back to Ashton Circus.
