In his games this season for Claremont seniors he has rucked very well, except that he doesn't aim his taps at all. He was averaging 30+ taps per game last week. Not bad for a guy who was ignored in the 2013 draft.

I'm pretty sure he won't be going to this year's championships, although he is some chance. The idea for overagers is to give the ones who haven't had much footy or who have been injured an opportunity. Neither of those fits Cameron. He looks ensconced as ruckman at Claremont, especially with Seaby struggling with injury (again).
He would be a better bet to play in a senior State game: depending on what other rucks are available at the time, he might be the logical choice.

Should have got drafted. It's all very well to say let the big guys develop in the state leagues but the difference between the two levels is stark.

Yeah, The Tassie league is like a Suburban league

Any chance of Darcy Cameron being drafted this year. I personally havent watched him play buthis got 12 goals in 5 games including 2 games with 4 goals. For an agile fwd/ruck he would someone a few clubs would be interested in.

Yeah lacks a bot of pace, but is looking pretty good up front. Good set of hands on him
true but at 204cm not many players are that fast. Tho i heard he is really mobile. Could be a jenkins type player and if he gets going his size will just about warrant the best opposition defender meaning (if you get them ) someone like a hogan or mccarthy get lesser opponents.

I daresay it's his athleticism and endurance holding him back. Up there with the worst combine results I've seen; they were genuinely alarming even for a big man. Rucks need to cover a hell of a lot of ground now and there are definitely a number of teams beginning to favour those that offer more around the ground and are a bit more mobile. I think he'll have a bit of a hard time getting into the league now unfortunately unless these things improve.

It had to be something significant, as there is a fair bit to work with there. I guess it depends on how much work he puts in to fixing up his poor test results. It isn't impossible, but teams will not draft a guy who can barely last half a game.

Yeah, unfortunately the athletic testing results were pretty significant. Multiple 0th percentiles and also numerous fifth percentiles or worse. His best athletic test result put him in the 14th percentile for that test so he performed comparatively poorly in every single category.

I hope to see him get a go as I quite liked his footballing ability and he appears to be growing in the WAFL. Will be dependant on how hard he works on the above criteria though. They aren't everything but I can't see a club being too interested if there's no improvement. For all I know there has been a heap of improvement already though! Just trying to put his non-selection in context.

I don't know if this is true but when i posed the question on getting cameron in the eagles thread about trade and draft, some one stated that he had offfield issue. If that is true, it would have a bearing on him being picked up or not.

I hadn't heard about any off field issues, but if he has some, then his chances of being drafted are pretty low. Clubs are steering right away from that sort of thing.

Has always had a big bigfooty fan base, maybe this year is the year for him though.

Athleticism would be the main thing holding him back in the eyes of the recruiters, but even with those limitations if he continues to put forward the kind of stats he has started to produce this year will probably get a chance somewhere.

Another 4 goal performance for cameron.

watched him up close at a few games and he has excellent leading patterns for a forward, wouldve had more goals if maister didnt keep jumping into him during marking attempts. freo would most likely take him as a rookie at worst but should pull the trigger in the main draft to avoid another adams miss
