Thought he had a Good Debut and long way from our Worse

Yeah he was Ok out and around the ground Dave, but that's not where he's going to be playing if Grundy is around. What happened to the big bloke tonight? Did he cop one?

Very happy with that outing, I thought he showed a lot on a night which didn’t suit the big guys.

Agreed looked pretty good and finished with 8 marks and looked the most consistent target down the line on both sides.

But again the question stands for a long time now, why do we like putting the ball long to the top of the goal square when the big guy isn't there. For a long time we've been bombing it to the square when Cox wasn't there and again tonight we seem to send it in long and high multiple times when Cameron was no where near it. Is it poor on Cameron's behalf because he wasn't down there when he should be? Is it on the coaching staff not teaching the right positioning for him, or advising those sending it inside 50 to at least kick to somewhere of the general vicinity of him?

At the end of the day if he/Cox are going to be our contested marking forwards they needs to be taking marks (or at least getting opportunities to) inside 50.

Got Knock to his Knee/Hip in 1st half

Darcy didn’t look like scoring tonight but our entire forward line kicked 0 goals between them, I believe.

Looked ok - moves well, but doesn't look threatening at all closer to goal. Having said that he would be impacted more than most just starting out at AFL level and missing out on a chunk of development early on in terms of working off your opponent, running / leading patterns and attacking the ball.

Tough game for a rookie ruck / forward to get into tonight though to be fair, given how ineffective our midfield was at moving the ball and delivering it inside F50 for the last three quarters.

Looks to have stickier hands than Cox and did okay around the ground but never looked likely up forward and seemed to lack the strength one out to take advantage of his height.

Cox gets pushed under the ball more often than he should also but that extra height helps offset that weakness so he still troubles defenders.

Probably because he barley played Deep Forward and we more the Long Target coming out of the Backline

He does not look to be the answer to a lack of height in the forward line but he did shape as insurance against Grundy being unavailable through injury. And he should stay in the side if Cox is not ready.

I'd play both Cameron and Cox. Thought Cameron was a really good target on the flanks last night. Time for WHE to do a Mayne and re-invent himself in a different role
Are you suggesting using Cox as a permanent forward and playing Cameron largely off the bench as a relief ruck? Where would you play De Goey if Cox plays the full forward role, because De Goey seems at this stage to be more suited to a forward role than mid field - that is if he can kick goals.

Cox can come in for WHE who was very poor again.

Give us Cox and Cameron as two KP Forwards.
A few times when Cameron got the mark 70-80m out he was begging for a tall target like Cox to kick to.

My only concern is being exposed on the rebound. But based on last night we were exposed anyway.

To me, we plan too much around being really clean and uncontested out of defence, which looks great when it works, but when teams can disrupt our movement from defnce we barly ever even halve a down the line contest because we regularly have no likely target to kick it at. We've got to get better at contesting down the line. I thought Cameron looked good in this regard. WHE is often used as a down the line target, and too often he's really uncompetitive. I'd play Cameeron and Cox alternating between hitting up as a down the line target, deep forward and relief ruck. Jordy doing what Jordy does best - getting himself dangerous inside 50. Essentially, normal structure, but I'd be replacing WHE with Cameron.

We certainly looked a better team coming out of defence in the games where Cox was an effective down the line target and Cameron looks to have more consistency in this role. WHE did seem to be a down the line target at times last night but simply didn't do enough.

Decent depth for Cox, don't think he holds his spot if Cox and Grundy are fit.
I thought he played a really good first game. I'll be disappointed if they drop him next week.
I'm hoping they go with Cox for WHE and Stephenson for Thomas.
