Gee that's a lot to give up. They truly did get lucky with Heeney etc.

That's also provided that they don't trade in any other picks in the trade period.

Actually, I calculated it wrong, given Blakey will be bid on in the first round, their first rounder 2019 is pushed back if in defecit.

Their first rounder in 2019 would be pushed back approx 400 pts, rather than losing their second round pick.

i.e 2019 pick 12 would become pick 22 approx.

So it would be:

Pick 28,29,65, 2019 pick 12 (approx)

for

Blakey, 2019 pick 22 (approx)

This will have legs. Any Collingwood fans that have contacts within the club will possibly understand why.

PM?

Collingwood may have to stump up $1.2m+ a season to keep both De Goey and Moore.

Ouch.

If Tom mitchel uncontracted is worth pick 14 in a rubbish draft. This guy is not worth a first in a good draft. I mean look at the guys performance/stats, he is unproven. But certainly worth a punt for a second.
Mids are a dime a dozen also anyone in the draft is unproven. So if he is to go you need a pick that will enable us to draft a player that matches his potential

Pies are well within their rights to seek a high draft pick for Moore if this was to eventuate (although i'm sure its just posturing and he'll sign)

Seems like an odd target for Sydney unless they see him as a defender. Buddy still has a few years left, Reid is competent ( when fit), the club is impressed with McCartin (debuting tonight though still several years away from really being an AFL key forward), and Blakey looks probable in this year’s draft.

And to give up a good pick for a defender would be out of character for a club that has traditionally stocked its backline via the rookie draft.

Yeah but good mids are not...

Your negotiating position is weak, because the player is uncontracted. So the situation is a like for like trade of 2 unproven commodities. He is worth a second on potential, maybe we offer you back your second from last year.

Horse loves his tall forward line...

It's so funny how opposition poster's like you think they can trade in quality future players with upside for unders when probably offering big money to poach them out of a club lol . Bf never disappoints.

Even if Moore chooses the Swans they'd have to give up their first round pick and that would only be the start of it. I'd say if you had say a pick inside the top ten that wouldn't be enough. Lets say you finish tenth, get a lot of injuries, already Naismith snapped his ACL, Franklin has a bung foot, Hanners injured and so on... and you have pick 8, you'd need to offer that plus a second and then we might throw something back.

We also might want a player, maybe a first plus Lloyd... not sure, don't watch the Swans close enough. On that note, don't even bother replying to me, you'd have to be a complete peanut to suggest you could get Moore for a second. Did I just call you a peanut? You're on my ignore.

Is Moore really worth more than Schache was?

Moore isn't that great. Not on exposed form, anyway.

Darcy Moore is no superstar and my fellow supporters need to stop writing “the future” on the wall - he’s 22 and has made no progress in the last two years. Obviously for depth and potential purposes, it’s in our best interests to keep him (I really like him as a tall rebounding defender. That said, we can’t overpay him based on what he’s shown. If Sydney want to give him $600k+ a year, it’s probably best we let him go and get Max King or someone like that in the draft.

Darcy may well still become a gun but he’s at a point where potential should transition into ability and it hasn’t happened in three and a bit years.

His worth? Sydney’s first rounder whatever it may be (11-18) sounds decent especially when factoring in that Sydney’s first pick will be used on Blakey anyway, so their first rounder loses drastic value to them.

It is though as they are similar players, and in his first year at Brisbane Schache played some good football for a man of his size and age.

He had serious mental health issues which is why his price plummeted.
Also Moore's exposed form is much better anyway.

Then you don't want him then

I want him. The Swans have a good record with bringing in Collingwood players and making them better players, well an okay record as I can only think of Shaw and Davis but they were both more than solid players for the Swans.

I am just not sure Moore is worth a first rounder, especially when we would want to keep that pick so we have the points needed to get Blakey.

I would not put it Past Pickering telling his Mate Barrett to get this Story to try and get more Money and Years out of Collingwood
