With Hawthorn pressing to get back in the game midway/ late in the last quarter was pulled down by the arm in a marking contest and obviously injured as a result.

Moments later willed himself to another marking contest in the forward pocket and earnt a free kick with advantage being paid thanks to another of our players cleaning up the spillage Glass created.

Despite his limitations with the media, his captaincy credentials should never be questioned.

Yes I think he is a great captain. Leads by example in the back half, I'm watching the game now Keys so I'll look out for that bit of play you mentioned.

Had the better of Buddy for the most part too, Buddy got three goals from handballs in the square and one from an incorrect free kick, every other one on one contest Glass was too good. Spent some time on Roughead as well.

Was inspirational tonight in the final quarter. NO ONE wanted that win as much as Glass. Absolute champion bloke, leader and player.

Agree, that was a crucial point in the game and Glass stood tall. No doubt.

I still would prefer someone who can inspire through personality/charisma and be an outstanding footballer but we have no one like that.

Btw, did anyone see Glass during Woosha's press conference (to announce the extension) this week? He looked like he'd been sick for a week before that. Couldn't help but think he should pay more attention to his presentation seeing as he is the face of the club.

Anyway, very small gripe on a very good captain. Well done Keyser for pointing out this play, it kind of got lost in the NickNat hysteria.

I remember that effort by Glass in the final term and it was absolutely top drawer. He looked like he couldnt lift one of his arms up, he was running back at top pace and he looked out on his feet after moments earlier being involved in a heavy clash.

Yet he affected the spoil, earnt a free kick which we played on with advantage. It was inspirational stuff and you could see on his face just how much he wanted to win. The blokes a champion.

He was hard done by on a few free kicks too.
He looked like he was hobbling a bit at one stage also. Hopefully he didn't re-aggrivate his injury from last year along with the shoulder.
Glass is one guy on the team who does everything right.

He's looked proppy for weeks and weeks.

The bloke is a great captain.

I wonder how all those Cox pushers felt when he squibbed numerous contests this year...?

And to think words like "disgrace" and "terrible" were being thrown around when Glass was named over Cox.

I have so much love for that man.. so much love...

Kerr was saying in an interview recently that Glass is not a big talker, but when he talks he is concise, articulate and the players take notice.. I love the way he just goes about his business and doesn't crave attention and fanfare..

I also love that he is someone that opposition supporters and players like and respect.. that is a great thing for our club to have going forward..

He's really grown into the role.

I love seeing him directing and encouraging the young blokes, he really backs himself now.

He was absolutely robbed with a couple of free kicks against him, even Hawks supporters mentioned it as did the comentators.

If we had lost that game and anyone mentioned we tanked I would have gone off. 2-3 goals came of frees that simply were not there, Glass put on a perfect spoil and hit the contest just as the ball arrives and he gets done.

But thankfully carma and God are Nick Nat fans and all is good.:thumbsu::D

he played a blinder on saturday. i thought we pretty much nullified the effect of buddy and roughead, however buddy got 2 of the cheapest goals ever as well as one from a terrible free kick. roughhead didn't get in the play much at all but he's game looked much better than it was because he kicked a goal just about every time he got the ball.

as i said in the gameday thread though it was a very tough game for key forwads.

Quartermaine made a point of mentioning this effort on One Week At A Time last night.

Lloyd said that along with Hudghton and Scarlett he was the hardest fullbacks playing the game and that he was a great guy.

Fantastic captain - glad he's back to his best.
