Green, Dunn for Pickett and Davey

Dunn is a CHF and Pickett is a floating CHF so it fits. Noone can replace Davey (or Pickett either really) but Green is the obvious choice and can play perhaps a more attacking half forward role?

Both hammies and will miss upto a month you would think. People talk about Pickett tearing his off the bone but not a chance - will some assistance he was able to walk off the ground.

Matthew Lloyd jogged off the ground...

Lets wait for the scan.

Lloyd also walked off the ground with assistance, i think it'll be 3 for Davey and 4-5 for Byron unfortunately.

We've also got Moloney, CJ, Miller, Wheatley to come back in with Dunn and Green, so we've got no shortage of replacements

They'll be back for finals, so we shouldn't worry too much.

In the meantime, I have come up with the perfect replacement for Davey up forward... wait for it... 426!

It's time to unleash the monster Neale. Bring him on! :o

Confirmation from the Melbourne football club via SEN sports station that Pickett should miss up to a month and Davey three weeks.

Not too worried, with Bizzell and Miller playing reasonable football in the reserves as well as Green to come back, Chris Johnson may have a game or two and maybe an off chance for Moloney if his groin heals up and he hits form. Not to mention Wheatley, Dunn and Read.

We should be able to put a few more wins together, maybe get to second (very hopeful).

But it's good to have both Davey and Pickett for the finals, especially Pickett who is known to fire up during big games.

Green will come back into the side straight away, but I think we should give Motlop another chance as a crumbing forward.

i wouldnt even mind seeing chris johnson given an opportunity up forward to see how he goes up there. just a thought. what do others think?
Has he played up forward much before? I can't remember him up forward for the Dees, and don't know about Sandy. Green is a given to be back. By the sounds of it Beamer won't be back for some time, but Dunn or Miller can come back this week. There are 3 guys who could fill up forward/midfield positions (in Green's case), so I'm not sure if we really need CJ up there yet.

yeah, he just has some pace and seems to be a pretty smart player to me. i dont think he has really played up forward (not that i am aware of anyway) but i thought it might just be interesting to see what he could do zipping round the forward line and snapping at goals.
what has motlop been like for sandy? is he likely to get a look in?

I'm pretty sure C.Johnson was recruited as a HFF. Could be wrong.

He played some pre-season games there earlier in the year and was good, could be made into another mid sized forward but we have plenty of those. I think Daniher has decided his place is in defence.

Oh fair enough then. Knowing Daniher and everything he's done with Miller, I can now see CJ being played up forward for the rest of his life. Actually, maybe he needs another year down back to get settled - then let's move him up forward.
Conclusion: play Miller up forward and shut me up.

Davey is one of the best footballers I have ever seen and he will be missed for those few weeks. His skills are brilliant and ever young plyer who wants to play AFL should watch his abilities and learn.
