Heard him on the radio today. There was a discussion about Collingwood sending players to Port Douglas o enjoy the mid-season break, and King chipped in with "North are going to send their players to Kensington'.

Hilarious, eh? You might expect that kind of witless crap from some nose-picker on Bay 13. But a bloke who was given a career by NMFC, the club that picked him up from Port Melbourne and gave him the chance to play in 2 premierships?

The club he now wants to undermine and send off interstate?

**** you very much Kingy.

Everyone has there own agenda and I think Kingy has a big agenda mainly about himself. I can't stand past players like Kingy or Duck coming out and speaking bad about North Melbourne. Unless they have something positive to say don't say it at all. Theres no need for it. If they have bitterness get on a public forum like we do and have a harmless opinion.

I don't mind constructive criticism. If Carey says something critical of the players or coach, I'll take notice. And I know sometimes an ex-player might go hard at his old club to ensure he isn't accused of bias.

But this was King just having a sneering cheap shot at his old club. Wasn't clever or funny, just showed him to be lacking in class.

What's wrong with Kensington?

Funny just as I was reading this I was watching on the couch replay and Gerard Healy said "North Melbourne Gold Coast this weekend at metricon stadium at Gold Coasts home ground which some would agree could be a home for both". What a c*** Smokker. He can get F***** too. To Mike Sheehan and Paul Roos credit they didn't really comment and Mike actually made comment that North Melbourne are doing fine off the field and Paul Roos said our biggest problems are on field at the moment.

Gerard Healy's main problem is that his brain is in inverse proportion to his ego.

I like David King and he still loves the Roos. But he is a media Personality now and no matter what he is a 2x Premiership Player and sometimes the truth hurts. We have to build from where we are and every week get better.Who cares what they say.

I know it was a different era but when he was talking about sliding in feet first in regards to Lindsey I thought what a hypocrite.
I guess his slide into Craig O'brien's face stops first in the 96 grand final wasn't dangerous?
Tosser for sure.

I know of Kingy via a professional relationship he has with a family member. Great bloke to have a beer with, one of the boys, but not overly smart.

His brains have mostly escaped through that bald spot that he spents 110% of his on-air time trying to conceal with careful camera angles and sideways knowing glances. I'd love to know what the Fox Footy production crew think of the prima donna.

Yeah, agree about King. Changes his opinions from one thing to the next overnight, might a slight chip on his shoulder for good measure.

Carey is different though, reckon he has been excellent at doing his AFL comments job with honesty but without any hint of Roos bitterness (and nor should there be).

He has football smarts but don't think the lights are switched on in other important areas.

Funny way of showing it.
I agree he still loves the roos, I didnt hear this comment regarding Kensington, lacks class yes! every Nth person has the right to pot him over this one on the street or wherever. I know I would if I´d bumped into him on the street.
He has done alright for himself for a lad overlooked and started running around for port melb til we brought him into the club.

Yep. He also bought Eade's BS about North supposedly playing the man in the wake of the Thompson/Hall game last year, and laid on some sanctimonious crap about how disgusted he was.

To make it BIG in the media you don't have to be all that smart. You just have to have a few clues and more importantly a thick skin so that when you get caught out lying or making a fool of yourself getting something wrong (or making it up), you don't take the criticism to heart. In other words you have to be beyond embarrassment or shame.

The Cow, the Yob, Drayne and Big (H)Ed are submitted in support of my theory. Kingy is a mere apprentice but he's on his way. Aker, Grant Thomas and Hutchy have what it takes too. Ricky Nixon might be a star media performer one day. He has all the credentials.

The Ox won't make it because he's too genuine. Same with Richo. Mike Sheahan is a dinosaur, the last of the old style journos who tries to behave professionally as much as possible - probably as he was trained by his predecessors. I don't often agree with him but he's good at what he does.

I have no idea why but it seems an unhealthy proportion of our players when they retire rarely seem to retain a deep love for the club where they would go in to bat for the side at every opportunity.

The examples are plentiful: the Duck continually referring to us as "The Kangaroos" and/or in the third person, King making snide remarks against the club, Schwass speaking like a Sydney stalwart, any number of pro-GC forces (Aylett, Keka, Greig etc).

Compare this to the one man Essendon media cheersquads headed up by the likes of M Lloyd and T Watson.

No, not correct at all.

Lloyd and Watson nearly always refer to their ex-team as "the Bombers" in print or TV. Carey says "the Kangaroos" likewise.

Its part of the job of neutral commentator and would be inappropriate to say "we/us", and refer in first person when no role at the club.

The Kangaroos is OK with me. I hate it when he calls us the Kangaroos Football Club. That really irritates me.

David Kings attempt at humour always end up with deathly silence and an uncomfortable shift n the chair for those around him. Another classic moment was when he read his list of the top 10 toughest players and when he got to number 1 he said Nathan Lonie. Those in the studio didn't laugh either. He should spend less time in the media and more time on Bay 13. Me thinks King is a troll on the Bay.

It was our name for a long time, that Miller branding shit is under the bridge. I don't think he says it to be spiteful, it is what he is used to.
