This year's Carlton reminds me of the cats of 06, lost lots of winnable games, you know what we did a full review, got rid of some assistants but kept bomber and kept the Costa, cook and bomber relationship, the easy decision is go get an experienced coach, that hasn't worked at Carlton, do the review but keep Teague, chase Pyke as senior a/C not sold on Brad Lloyd, get balmey would be my take

We need a full footy department review.

Who knows if Lloyd is any good? If he's not (and Liddle is not the one to judge), fu** him off because it's the most important position.
Likewise, independent review of the rest of the coaches. I'd hazard a guess they should all be cleaned out (not including Power and the other new development coaches).

We've got most of the talent we need. Just have to get them playing as a team with a sustainable game plan.

Bomber had a lot more runs on the board than Teague!!

i dont know how good lepper is as a coach but he doesnt come across as the type of person to accept players not giving 100%

. . . played in 3 premierships, helped shape some at the Tigers. Tactical and determined and understands what is required to win flags.

Coaching like pure shit but my gut feel is they won't get rid of him.

I dare say before making such a big decision they will want to assess him with decent assistants around him, as they should imo.

He's coached 2.5 years.

His first 1/2 year was caretaker.
His second year was a weird COVID year.

This year is a disaster but it would be pretty brutal to give him the flick now.

But who knows, we could (and should) conduct a pretty hefty review and find that he's no good and be forced to make the change. Either way I hope we go through the right processes to make the deicsion.

Disagree... Bolton was our Hardwick moment (that we needed to do with Ratten)... get him the right support and back him for at least one more season.
The players literally revolted. That was no Hardwick moment. That's a horrible revision and re writing

looking at St Kilda can you argue Ratts was any good?
Ratts took that rabble and won a final last year. There are signs with them this year that it's still there just some tweaks required, they'll definitely bounce back next year. Us... well... we'll have Teague still uhming and ahhing this time next year at maybe 3-5/9-7....

The review found they should keep Bomber though.
Doubt a proper review would find the same about Teague.
But the important thing is an independent review by somebody credible is done.

nah mate bolton was cooked.

we were getting pummelled every week and he'd lost the players 7 games into the year. ratts never lost the players which is why it was such a bad move to boot him.

up until last week it looked like teague 100% had the players, now i'm not so sure. the bye has come at the perfect time for him.

The Covid year does not excuse the completely unsustainable game plan, or the ridiculous selection policy this year.
Nor the lack of addressing the issues that were clear in our games last year.

So you would rather he lose his sh*te and composure, by smashing a phone or a fist through a plaster wall? It makes sense,

The team are playing like they don’t care......or care enough.
Maybe DT‘s demenour of no negative emotion and hugs for all really does flow through to the players. Enabling their sub-par efforts week after week.
Where is the pride?
Is there even some validity in the way DT carries himself in physical appearance that suggests not enough pride, not enough care, that transfers through to the players? He’s setting an example that they are following. Just adequate effort is acceptable here.
I don’t think he’s the man for the job

David Teague: It's more the way we play … I'm more frustrated that we're not playing the brand of footy that we want to play and executing the way we want to execute.

If there’s any doubts he’s out of his depth, this should clarify it.

This board has made a multitude of bad decisions, how can they be trusted with this decision again? How many failures can they be responsible for?

Justin Leppitsch would be ideal as the football manager, taking over Brad Lloyd.

i think the game has passed Ross Lyon by. Kennett wants Mitchell as head coach, so Clarkson is a live chance, but he would need a good, younger senior assistant by his side.

Michael Voss took Brisbane to a finals campaign in 2009; and the club was a rabble during his time post their great era. He should be looked at closely also.

maybe I’ve rushed my judgement
Turd polishing is a quality we lack
He hardened that stkilda team and got very unlucky.

He dropped Dal Santo and Milne, made players of both of them. Particularly Dal Santo.

If anything he wouldnt be scared to.toughen up our talent and precious players
