It sure as hell shouldn’t have been Gibbons.
Not Samo 2 weeks in a row when they dropped him. And definitely not Dow when they dropped him and he needed a run.
I really think that the club thought they wouldn’t need to give Gibbons a runout last week. I’m sure they were planning for Cunners to go down with an ACL in the first minutes of the game. Therefore, Gibbons was a safe bet. All of us commenting on who should have been sitting on the bench are commenting from hindsight, although I’ve been saying that Honey should be in for Gibbons for a couple of weeks now, and we all know hindsight is 20/20 vision.

It was dumb.
How was Gibbons a safe bet? He's in worse form, and less versatile than Newnes. It's hardly 20/20 vision.
Whether the sub was to play a whole game, 15 minutes, or spend the entire match on the bench, Gibbons made zero sense to be our sub.

Yes... you know that, I know that... and a ton of other people knew that. As I said, I would have been happier seeing Honey on the bench than Gibbons, but the club made the decision and we, the supporters, have to live with it. It was the wrong decision on the day. It will always be the wrong decisions... but there is **** all we can do about it now... unless you have a time machine to go back to last Sunday before the match and can warn Cuningham not to jump off the ground in the early minutes of the game. :D

The issue isn't so much one bad decision as it is multiple, repeated bad decisions.

amazing - every decision anyone involved with the club makes must be a good one - impressive level of expectation, stamster..........

Not every decision... but on-field it would be nice if we got some decisions right. Doesn't even have to be the majority, just more than one every now and then.

Nobody expects perfection, but I wouldn't think that repeatedly making the same or similar mistakes and not learning from them is something we should find acceptable?

I’m not 100% off Teague. I am not convinced in him, but I also am not adamant that he need to go, like I was with Bolton.

But this current run of results is unacceptable and changes need to occur one way or another

Even if Clarkson were to come here, no way will be coach us to a flag, it's fairly obvious the game has gone past him by.

This whole Messiah coaching figure nonsense has not worked for us in decades.
Lol. They're rebuilding. The game hasn't 'gone past him'. Footy is still footy and he's still a brilliant coach. They'll be back. ****ing short sighted thing to say.

I agree he excelled in a contested game plan which has now moved on to a faster game. He’s outdated imo.

if we were to move on from Teague we need someone who is first and foremost a strategist - Justin Longmuir would have been great, caracella another - although not sure if Caracalla is head coach material or just a good assistant
Hawks weren't a contested team. They lost clearances regularly. They were a precision ball movement and possession team.

I like Teague, I'd like him to stay, and to have success.

But if they were to move him on, it would elicit a shrug. It would be hard to argue that it's a bad decision.
He needs to pull his finger out.

Gibbons was the perfect sub if you’re trying to squeeze in players you like or want to look after....;)

Clarkson set their rebuild back years by bringing in Wingard and topping up with Scully, Patton etc

It's those decisions that worry me more about his gameday tactics the.

I just find it sad so many so supporters are looking for their pound of flesh in Teague and make assumptions that Clarkson is the coach to take us to the next level.

That is just guesswork, and it ended badly for us last time we did something similar (bringing in Malthouse)

If Teague has to go as coach, I would greatly prefer it for a younger, more well credential assistant with the fire in his belly. Adam Yze would be my pick.

Clarkson would only be coaching us for a massive paycheck and we all know it.

Why wouldn't clarko want the job ? He would look at our list and absolutely salivate , he got our boys playing like he had his boys in their prime and sh*t he could win 5-6 straight , why as a professional coach wouldn't he want that ? If we don't win at least 10 Teague is gone hate to say it .

And Clarko could bring Bolton as an assistant. ahh full circle.

Yze or Caracella. It’s a shame we missed out on Longmuir. I reckon he’s gonna be a star

So our coach needs new assistants. Our club publicly states that they don’t want someone with training wheels after moving Bolton on. We have won 3 out of 9 games this year. I find it incredible that the club puts blame on Bolton and sack him yet they finally work out that the assistant coaches he had, of which Teague was one of them are no good.
They bring in Worsfold and now are after Leppitsch. The club is trying to make a wrong into a right.

Like how Sydney brought in Don Pyke to help Longmire?
