So our coach needs new assistants. Our club publicly states that they don’t want someone with training wheels after moving Bolton on. We have won 3 out of 9 games this year. I find it incredible that the club puts blame on Bolton and sack him yet they finally work out that the assistant coaches he had, of which Teague was one of them are no good.
They bring in Worsfold and now are after Leppitsch. The club is trying to make a wrong into a right.
Better now than never in addressing the support staff around Teague. Look at what Melbourne did to support Goodwin over the off season.

As I've said before we have the ingredients we just need the recipe. I reckon this off season we will make big inroads with key personal.

Strange to me when some bemoan the changes they ask for just cos they didnt happen yesterday. Really shows it's all just talk. Got to have something to complain about no matter what.
One thing that really annoys me is a lot of the best assistant coaches all moved last year. Can’t see them changing clubs after 1 year

Scott burns, Matthew Boyd, Giansiracusa, macrae, Yze all moved last year

Your not getting the point. Teague was
actually an assistant to Bolton. Teague was
part of that coaching group that will be gone at seasons end.

Bolton had much bigger problems than his assistant coaches. That was proven when Teague took over and we instantly improved.

Lloyd made a big mistake not bringing in anyone new at the end of last year. Hope it is rectified ASAP.

Clarkson set their rebuild back years by bringing in Wingard and topping up with Scully, Patton etc
He's not the list manager and at the time maybe it was a concerted effort to go for one more?
That is just guesswork,
So are your assumptions about Clarkson and his coaching and personnel decisions.
If Teague has to go as coach, I would greatly prefer it for a younger, more well credential assistant with the fire in his belly. Adam Yze would be my pick.

Clarkson would only be coaching us for a massive paycheck and we all know it.
Couldn't care less why he does it if he does it well. Also the next coach will fail again if the right support structures aren't introduced. The name doesn't matter at all.

What Clarkson will bring is knowledge on how a football department should run and the minimum standards. That's what I want from a coach. Don't care who it is. Ruthlessness and minimum standards on performance and accountability getting enforced.

Carlton at the moment has neither.

Hard to know if he's any good
Gets a tick for bringing in Power and boosting the development and VFL.
Big cross for no new assistants at the end of last year.
Agree , Power & O’Keefe and CFC independent reserves team, is an improvement long overdue. We’ll begin to see results next year.

LOL, i just read sellers spills the beans on all assistants getting replaced, reveals his source as the footy manager and his brother goes nuts
Thats what I like about him, doesn't give 2 fks, Now the footy manager will get the sack and I bet that's what sellers thought immediately when he revealed it.
Like the last pin on the opposite side falling by itself. all of them gone. timing isn't great though

Would be happy about this. I reckon Lloyd has been a bust.
Not proactive enough.
Gave Russell a ridiculous contract, hasn’t turned over assistants, resigned barker

Credit due for investing in Luke Power and player development. Hard to argue with the rest.

Teague simply put the older players back into the prominent positions, which proves nothing. How has it worked out for the development of the kids Bolton was getting games into for the future since Teague took over? If we'd stuck with Bolton, then just maybe, we'd by now have a group of good kids who have learnt the important defensive aspects of how to play, they'd have a good number of games under their belt and we could be adding the offence now, which should always be the last piece of the puzzle. We'd also have a coach with the 'fire in the belly' that so many on here are now calling out for.

It's well-known Clarko holds a silly amount of power at that club. He has a strong say in all their list decisions, I think it's naive to assume he didn't have anything to do with the direction they're heading in.

He didn't intend to 'rebuild'. he's kept his older brigade. Shaun Burgoyne is still playing and he's like, 40. Arguably the greatest coach of all time but he's made a mess of that list.

Meh, Mick Malthouse had that knowledge, Neil Craig too, then Andrew Russell, now Clarko.

There's plenty out there who know what it takes, very few who can implement it at a brand new club and environment.

Bringing across Clarko as head coach would just be Mick 2.0 imo.

Problem was Bolton confused the players with the plan, to the extent they didn't know what they were doing. He collectively lost them and it only ends one way if you don't have the player buy in and or acceptance in the game plan.

Our CEO wants all the power in football.
Give me a bloke that has won 4 flags and had a team in the finals for 15 years. I’d know who the majority of people would take. Our football department is clueless!

Good chance we didnt have the budget to payout contracts and bring in new people

One.
He moved one older player, Ed Curnow, from the forward line where he was wasting away into the midfield where we were getting smashed.
It is such a myth.
His first game as coach he brought LOB back into the side to play on the wing.
Murphy shifted into the guts when Cripps was injured. Teague was hardly holding back the kids in 2019.

2020/21 is a different story.
