We all know what sort of player David Teague was. Never the most talented player out on the park but a guy who you could never question his commitment to the team and his teammates.

As the Bullants coach he has now gotten the best out of his team two years in a row only to meet one of the best teams in recent VFL history in back-to-back grand finals.

The players under Teague's coaching at the Ants have shown a lot of improvement. No question that he's a great coach. Although we lost today (yesterday) I feel Teaguey should be congratulated for his fine coaching this year.

Here's to you David!

Was just thinking the same thing.

Wait, didn't I read that we should sack him because he is not inspiring with his speeches?

Teague has shown that he has developed these guys into decent VFL footballers. It is up to them to become decent AFL footballers.

We seemed to have more names in our side (unless I just don't know the younger Roos players) which suggests that a hardened VFL unit can still beat a VFL team stacked with AFL experience. Of course it is a vastly inferior comp, but maybe the divide between VFL and fringe AFL is not very big at all. Probably goes to show how big the divide between fringe AFL and regular AFL is however.

They've also got Werribee as an affiliate, so they wouldn't have had many listed player in the team. Apparently they had:
Jones
Jo. Smith
Hale
Harding
Delaney
White
Norris

Jones retired, Smith delisted, Hale??? Was very much won by the VFL players.

Yeah, the centre of Stephenson-Sewell-Clifton could easily form an AFL standard midfield.

Great VFL contingent.

I can't believe Big Orren hasn't been picked up, not sure what the drawbacks were seen to be. Sewell must be a lock this year. Teague's 3/4 time address in the prelim was brilliant, think he may surprise a few with his coaching progression.

Orren was offered a Rookie spot on someone's list last year, I think Hawthorn.

Had to decline as he had a family to support, which you can't really do off Rookie wages.

IIRC.
