DALE Thomas' incredible ability for making the highlight reels has continued into the finals, with a mark and goal against Adelaide on Saturday earning a place in the shortlists for the year's best.
Youngster Chris Dawes' mark is also in contention, after he leapt bravely into a pack with scores level in the third term of the clash.
Thomas' mark came in the final quarter, running back with the flight of the ball despite teammate Nathan Brown and Crow Scott Stevens providing oncoming traffic.
However, his goal just before the three-quarter time siren should earn plenty of attention – snatching Shannon' Cox's effort as the third man up to send a long goal through and his side 20 points clear.

Of course he meant it, and of course you have seen less paid, Gary Ablett senior for one. Umpires can get caught up in the spectacle too. I have seen more not paid so does that make it not a mark?

I think it was borderline. When I watch it in real time I don't think it's a mark. When I watch it in slowmo I think it was a mark. All I can say is had it have been the other way I would have been pretty pissed.

Dawes mark was clearly not a mark, he dropped it. However it was paid a mark so therefore it was a top effort.
