I saw you playing football yesterday and I noticed that when you came off the ground near the end, that the crowd gave you an amazing round of applause. It must feel really special to get that kind of recognition for your efforts.

Did you know that the recognition wasn't for the 5 goals you kicked? It was for the attitude you showed to your fans and for the example you set for your team mates. We thought your chasing was fantastic and we are hoping to see that type of effort every week. We were so proud to see you playing like a man. Just as you held your head high as you walked off yesterday, we are all holding our heads high as we walk into work today. You see we have stuck with you through the bad times and defended you against opposition supporters and now, our loyalty is being rewarded.

I'm hoping to be able to hold my head high again next week, win, lose or draw. How about you?

Anyway, thanks for the game you played yesterday, I'm looking forward to seeing that type of effort from you 21 more times this year. If you can give us 21 more of those, then we might even get to see you play in a few extra games later in the year. That'd be a real treat.

No worries as0l0. It was really good to have the boys gel as a team, and it was great to play a part in that. These are exciting times down at Carlton and we need all our supporters to get behind us... perhaps with a few more performances like yesterdays a few more of those supporters will sign up as members.

Denis has really drummed into the boys, me especially over the pre season about tackling, pressure and attitude... and hopefully a bit of the hard work on the track showed during the game yesterday.

Oh, and the applause were much appreciated too!!

We are definitely aiming to make more than the finals... we're aiming to finish on top of the ladder and win the flag. Another thing Denis has spoken about over the pre season has been goal setting, and teaching the boys to aim high. If you aim extraordinarily high, if you fall short of that goal at the end of the day, it's more than likely you'll have achieved more than the next man, who has only aimed to make the 8 or be competitive.

Anyway, thanks for the support and hopefully we'll give you something more to cheer about next week.

Regards,
Brendan Fevola

Great thread and read. Spot on about Fev. I have been extremely dissapointed in his efforts, body language and lack of respect for the Navy Blue. This come to a head for me against Port Adelaide late last year. But, if this is the real 'Fev', credit where it is due. I hope, with his family life and commitments, he really has started to mature as a person and becomes the senior player we know he can be.

He is a confindence player that loves the crowd. When the crowd is behind him, or he is on early, he can be an elite talent.
