St Kilda are a bit of a worry. After today there should only be 3 teams sitting on 5 wins. That could drop to 2 next week, leaving St Kilda and 1-2 other teams on 5 wins.

These games are the ones likely to decide whether it’s a top 5 pick or better:

Round 15 v Carlton (MCG)
Round 18 v Melbourne (MCG)
Round 19 v Sydney (SCG)
Round 21 v St Kilda (Marvel)
Round 23 v us (shithole in my state)

Positive is that all but our game are at the other teams home ground.
I think the results will turn on whether their opposition has put the cue in the rack for the year. Gotta think Saints won’t care by round 21 if not in about 2 weeks coz they will know for sure they are cooked. They will beat us. I reckon Demons will still be in the running by round 18 and hopefully Swans too. So I am counting on those being losses. Carlton still in it but are shite. I reckon they win at least 3 of those - they are looking ok

I don't really see any of those sides putting the cue in the rack bar maybe Sydney. Saints last year could have tanked last round but beat the Blues and it bumped them up. Dees and Blues if they capitulate the coaches could cop the bullet and they don't have their first rounder anyway.

Did you hear about the Norf supporter and the Vegan who jumped off the cliff together to see who would land first??
Guess who won…?

The bolded are the games that we want NorF's to lose and are danger games

StKilda & Richmond i think the NorF's will win unless something strange happens
  • Carlton i just dont trust and are way too reliant on 3-4 players Cripps,Wietering,Curnow,MacKay
  • Melbourne are better than when they played NorF's last time and have some cohesion now
*Sydney really need to get their shit together and hopefully in sydney and players back get the win

But we would have to factor in 4 wins for the NorF's which should be 30 points and that should be enough for a top 5 pick before academy / FS selections

I would think they can only surpass the Saints who are putrid.

If that's the case and it ends up being pick 5 including the likely Allen compo then it's a good result. This is subject to how many academy kids sneak in before 5. One spot can end up being 1-2 with all this academy BS.
StKilda have

North - Marvel
Essendon -Marvel
Richmond - MCG
Melbourne - Marvel

10 games to go for the Roos. Going to get interesting mathematically in the next few weeks as the absolute highest number of wins they could theoretically get to now is 13.5, but each loss from now and other teams wins are going to keep their final position low.

The teams between 10-15 are all pretty shit though, so could just as easily see someone like the Bombers just tank from here on out.

Keep comparing it to last years ladder as the season is looking pretty similar that there's a big middle pack of clubs and you'll need at least 13 wins to play finals and at least 10 wins to be outside the bottom 4.

So 13.5 wins is now their maximum finish which, based on 2024, sees them finish 8th and pick 11 to us.

The big news though is that 3x more losses means the maximum finish based on 2024 would be 15th and a top 4 pick..

We're almost at the stage that is a certainty 😍😍😍😍

We need to have a big party thread when their position is secured for the year. It's a bit like an anti 'Welcome to Wrexham' maybe we can do our own 'Welcome to Arden'

I guess we want a Port win? Even if Melbourne lost every game from here (unlikely), North would need 3 wins to pass them. So go Port?
Probably. Melbourne play Norf too which we'd hope they win

Just catching up with the weekends results
