Are you kidding? It sounds as if the girl was harassing him. Is that okay? Is he allowed to tell her to piss off? We discover he didn't do anything at all to the girl and instead of condemning her for being a liar and trying to destroy a man's reputation because he refused her advances you still make it about DeGoey. I'm assuming she's telling the truth because of security. The story keeps changing so it's VERY difficult to keep up with all the minutiae.

To me at least he was clearly inferring that that sort of negative attention - particularly as it's happened twice in a relatively short period of time would not be regarded favourably.

Let's be clear, sponsors are buying a vehicle for their product or service. If that vehicle is a rust bucket that keeps breaking down and making the neighbours snicker then they would surely look elsewhere.

There is only one way the NYPD have dropped the sexual charges. The complainant has refused to go forward with the complaint.
Three possible reasons.
1.) The lawyers DG has engaged gave her a godfather offer.
2.) She doesn’t want to be put on the stand and treated like a whore. Her who.e sexual history revealed to the world. This is how lawyers like those engaged by DG operate.
3.) It never happened.

Lock in option 4 for me please: ‘Insufficient evidence’.

No chance it was option 1. New lawyers don’t get appointed, work out terms of engagement with their client, collect and review all the evidence, put together a strategy, run it by the client, approach the alleged victim with an offer, wait for her to decide if she wants to engage her own lawyer to handle it, her team decide to accept the offer, victim withdraws statement from DA office, DA office review case and withdraw charge … all within the space of 8 hours.

You must have years of life ahead of you to suggest discarding De Goey and totally rebuilding the team. I am impatient for success. And if you are looking for dickheads in the club, look no further than the people who recruit and contract the players.

I'm glad De Goey isn't guilty of the forcibe touching charge because that was the most insidious part of the story. It also made the assault charge far worse in that context.

This works both ways though and there is still a lot we don't know about what happened that night. This still ain't great and can get worse yet.

That said, rightly or wrongly, the circmstances leading to the alleged assault are important in my view. It won't excuse what happened but it may make it understandable. I hope for De Goey and the clubs sake it is, but I won't hold my breath either.

You're right, quite a few players do mess-up. Not a majority by any means, but a few.

The club's tolerance would vary depending on the frequency of offending, the severity of the act in question, and the player's worth to the club.

If we assign Jordy's rap-sheet to one of our lesser players, would this discussion even be taking place?

JDG will more likely than not be a C'wood player in '22. If he remains past that point I trust that the club will protect its interests.

If he does take the field I hope he can do enough to win back the trust of his teammates.

If the charges are dropped or he is acquited what do the players need to forgive? He's been training the house down and is in career best shape.
