Deledio and Gibbs would be the most rounded players out of this group. One down year doesn't take away the fact that Gibbs has played everywhere in his career. Doesn't throw himself into contests like Thomas, but his strength is underrated. Has reportedly added another two or three kgs to an already solid frame.

Deledio and Gibbs would be the best kicks out of the lot. Not sure if Wells can kick it as far.

I don't want Gibbs to play purely in the midfield with McLean, Carrazzo, Robinson, Murphy. Judd and Bell/Curnow/Ellard better inside players. Need his skills and hard running on the outside where he'll produce goals for Carlton. His 2011 game against North kept us in that match before Judd went into God mode after halftime. Should have kicked five, but he gave one off to Eddie.

Is there anything better than when you see a gun mid rack it up close to 30 touches and kick four or five goals?

Deledio is a natural goal kicker but he plays tall when forward and is bloody strong so i am hoping he goes forward a bit this year and hurts teams on the scoreboard.

Going into 2013 season,

Deledio

Wells

Thomas

Stanton

Gibbs

Thomas is capable of playing better and I can see Gibbs' move to midfield helping increase his value. Think Stanton should thrive with Goddard there to now take some focus off him.

Maybe that's how you operate.

Deledio, Gibbs, Wells and Thomas are all top-2 draft picks but none is the best player on his team. All play similar roles, as does Stanton. Sub Goddard for Stanton if you want.
The truth is I couldn't separate them. You have to understand that I'm not a great judge. I don't sit ad nauseum and watch games. I've only seen the players in context against us (North). By that you'd probably have to say that Wells and Thomas are in front.

Deledio would be a class above because of his consistency. Truth be told though, when the other 4 get a solid run on, they can all be equally as damaging. Wells, Thomas and Stanton go missing to often, Gibbs has the skill and consistency but needs throw his body around more, he definitely has the build for it.

ok, lets see how my logic goes...
Deledio. pick #1 in draft, Age 27(guesstimate). Star, richmonds linebreaker and play maker, does everything right.

Wells. Pick#2. Age 28. the player most affected by injury out of the lot. Mouth watering(?) when he is on, annoying when he isnt. big bias here as he is my favourite player, but wellsy a clear second as his role in his side is possibly the most important of the lot.

Thomas. first round pick. most clean of the lot. when he plays well, the pies win, no questions asked. however, when he plays poorly, ala wells, he is annoying to watch. however, collingwood have the cover.

Gibbs. Pick 1. youngest of the lot. this is on pure potential ahead of stanton, as what he has done so far is under-achieve, under-achieve and under-achieve. however, under mick, winning contested footy!?!?

Stanton. lowest pick of the lot. probably the fittest of the lot, however, least damaging. skills arent as good, however doesnt mind goals.

Deledio is 25, same age as Thomas.
