honestly, from what ive see, i dont think hes too happy at tigerland, even when he signed his contract he said something along the lines of "im happy at the tigers, for now"...
Thats terrible for us, our best player for the next 10 years isnt happy at his club. Im not saying that he will leave, im just saying if we dont improve soon (over the next 3-4 years) we have a serious chance of loosing him after his contract has ended.
The only solution...make him part of the leadership group next year!
Carlton did it with bryce gibbs just so it "secures" him more at their club because he wants to move back to adelaide.
 
No point throwing speculation like this around. He is secured at the club for the next 2 years so I wouldn't be too worried. Even, if he is traded, we would get a good pick for him.

Besides in 2009 we should have a much better team so he won't want to leave.
 
Not point worrying about it now, if he does goes you cant blame him.

I think when his contract is up he will sign on for 2 more years personally and in that time if we have still done nothing then, he will definately go somewhere else.

relax there dude, just having a bit of a dig at the context of the thread along with other sack threads. It kind of makes me laugh how we have tigers in here who really want to remove players that can play and keep triers that train hard and cant play. ;)

I agree it is a long year but we must keep the faith people give up to easy

deledio will be absolutely hot property in a few years but im sure with n. brown and a few developing stars around, he will stay at richmond.

Apart from one quote when he resigned what has given you the impression he isnt happy??

I have had doubts but im pretty sure he is happy at the tigers now.

This is very similar to all the speculation about Coughlan 2 years ago, when everyone though he didn't look very passionate on the field for Richmond, however I'm pretty sure thats just because hes more intreverted.

I'm not worried about Deledio at this stage, there are 100 other things to worry about

What have you seen? I'm not too worried about that "I'm happy for now" quote when he signed his contract, he was only a teenager.
I agree though that he should be in the leadership group next year, perhaps even the VC. Nothing wrong with giving the honour to youngsters if they are of the right character. Lids appears to be.
Trains the house down and by all reports, is busting his buns to be fit for this weeks game v Geelong. Want's to get the chance to atone for the result earlier this year.
Who knows what will happen in the future, but for the moment he is safe.
 
Some of our supporters are nothing but FishWives, all roumour and innuendo, just let things take their course, BTW last nite on Fox 1980 GF recorded it on DVD for posterity.

Lid has been a bit inclined to say silly things right from day 1. Don't care about his public speaking as long as he plays good footy.

Interesting that the young boys from Coburg seem have really good attitudes and are quite upbeat about the club when they are interviewed. I wouldn't be surprised if the young players who are regulars in the seniors are doing it a bit tough at the moment.
