Yeah, he had his year ruined by injury and didn't go all that well in the games he did play in sadly. Was always a project player though, if he doesn't get picked up by a club this year he may well bob up again in a few years.

Why are you guys cutting him adrift after only 1 year then? If you think that he may come on after a year or 2 in the WAFL or VFL then wouldn't it be more prudent to keep him as a rookie and actually develop him? Trust me, I'm a Freo supporter I know, there's nothing worse than letting a player go only to see another team benefit from them!

There should only be 2 reasons why you would let him go after a year; 1. you're absolutely sure that he won't make it at AFL level, or 2. he's chronically homesick.

Probably because I have nothing to do with the decision :D

Also we can only keep three on the rookie list and Cachia, Dare and Casboult are well ahead of him.

Our rookie list is full.

We can only keep Cachia, Dare, Casboult and Tuohy.
Bit gutted about Anderson and Johnson getting chopped... hope another club picks them up (probably GWS).

Fisher was always in the firing line to get delisted this year even before he did his knee. Thanks for all the service there mate, good luck with the future.

Browne is a bit rough to get cut, but he was the low man on the pole so he had to go first.

Donaldson, as has been mentioned, was a project player. I hope he drops back into the VFL and kills it for a couple of years there, then pops back up as a mature aged recruit.

Tiller I feel sorry for. Hope he gets picked up by someone else and makes a go of it.

Good to see that ROK is going to be rookied by us next year. I reckon one more year on the rookie list and he will be ready to start pushing for a slot.
Gutted to see them go because they're good guys and would have put everything into making it at Carlton. Fisher fought back to play a game after rupturing his ACL for the second time in the NAB Cup. They deserve a better send off than AThomas celebrating the possible end of their AFL careers in Facebook fashion.

I  Joey.

Browne didn't work out, but was a positive in his first season.

The club might want to push up Cachia, Tuohy, Davies and Kerr next year, so it's understandable that he's gone.

Joe Anderson....???? Help me out here , thought this kid showed a bit and is only 21.....am i missing something...?

His kicking and decision making are very poor. Can't question his courage though.

All in all, no real surprises in the players that were delisted. Have to feel for Fisher though - being stuck on 99 games.

Must say that I am pleased to see Ellard get promoted onto the senior list. Worked his @rse off to get a regular game, and it really showed during the second half of the year.

I do wish CFC TV and the AFL for that matter would switch to using something stable like youtube. .. Bigpong sucks for video streaming. ..

thats a massive understatement. Bigpond video... in fact bigpond anything is so fat, ugly and nonperforming, it's like trying to watch micky martin's mum do situps.

Yeah have been looking for the appropriate thread to post something similar to you two after seeing the pics on fb.

Was considering starting a thread but this seems an ok place.

Very happy he is training with the boys and hopes he gets a spot on our rookie list (as rumoured) which IMO his talent demands.

Q: does the same rule apply to ROK as it did when we could pre-list Jacobs + others prior to the rookie draft if they had been overlooked in the ND and use our last picks on them? That would be ideal.

Very happy to see ROK training with us.

If we did want him, and everything seems to suggest that we do, I can't see any obstacle standing in our way of getting him in the rookie draft.

If a club wants to re-rookie, or demote a player, it far more often than not eventuates. Clubs don't seem willing to stand in the way of others in this regard.
