delisting and trades

Well in the space of 10 games John Anthony became a gun forward, as in someone who plays the position well/competently and you know will actually play 200+ games in that position because they are better than most alternatives (for every one that succeeds there are about 5 who fail). There are of course hacks who get the crap bagged out of them every game aka Leigh Brown but there would be very few that argue he plays well... And if you had seen those 17 games, or knew anything about football, you’d not be arguing to delist Rusling and with the extra spot, think that a pick 80-90 draftee would hold more promise than a fit Rusling.

I doubt anyone would gamble rusling. see how his shoulders go next year. Cox a possibility to trade. I would allow Cloke one more year. Hopefully he can get a good pre-season as his off-field issues may have had some effect on his preperations this year... Ben Johnson although is unpredictable is not worth keeping. Were not going to get much more out of Johnno.. he is good trade bait. Not much talent out there available for Fraser. Still need someone to help Wood..

Well its that time of year & once again we have come up short. We have a very good young list & have plenty to look forward to! Bucks will be back on board next year as well..

Wellingham, Beams, Sidebottom, Thomas, Pendels, McCArthy, Dick, Goldsack, Anthony, Wood & McCaffer will benefit from another big pre season & they all need to put on the extra kilos! They all have great potential & are our future!

Reid, Brown & Dawes need to step up & hold down Key positions. There time to start makning an impact is next year! They wont be Jonathan Browns next year, but they need to start to show something. Dawes will need to kick 40 to 50 goals & Ried Broen to hold down key Defensive positions will be the expectations.

Players like Blight, Blair, Barham, Rounds, Reed & Dyas would all be seeking for some senior acftion & would want to keep on developing.

Senior players in Clarke, Medhurst & Fraser will need to step up again & show that they are worthy to be on our list. Disappointing year from all three players. I have my doubts on Fraser, but he has more value to us on the list.

Players to delist or try & Trade:

Bryan
Cook
Corrie
Cox
Rocca
Stanley
Rusling

I would also put up

Cloke/Davis/Johnson up for trade to see what value we can get out of them. They all have HUGE question marks on them & we need to lure a big name at our club. They might be the ones to go..

Didak,Swan,Shaw,Maxwell,Presti,Obrien,Pendels & lockyer all can hold there heads up high after very good years. Davis should be in this group, but his finals performance was disgraceful again.

Overall I think we need to obtain an experienced in & under midfielder, an experienced Ruckman & another Key forward.

All those requirements are hard to get at once, but thats why we need to make the hard decisions now.

So Cloke/Davis & maybe Fraser all should be looked at in the trade period.

The trouble with trade week is that we usually are serious however most other clubs just ask too much when the Pies are involved and the trade falls flat on its face, especially with big name players. I have no doubt that we will be involved in talks with some serious additions to our list, but by the end of trade week we'll end up with nothing.

Just always happens with us.

AGREED. Got to delist Cook and Stanley. VFL specialists no good at AFL standard. Also the pr0n star Bryan got to go too.

We should try to entice Ryan Giggs into AFL. He's just that awesome.

I have this theory that Collingwood will next win a premiership when Liverpool win their next League championship. Both superclubs last won their respective flags in 1990 and have disappointed fans since.

All those calling for didak to be traded are delusional- He is the reason we won 14/15 mid year. While he didn't perform well in finals which is what players are remembered by, I would owe it to not being accustomed to being hard tagged Have all our supporters forgotten his 2006 AA year at half-forward??

This i believe is his most dangerous position, ala stevie J, as it is much more difficult to get tagged. He and davis are not true midfielders thus should not be played there. Midfield should be left to players like pendles, swanny, beams and sidebottom. We probably have no other choice atm due to our lack of mature mids and that is why i believe we should go for luke ball or shane tuck, as we can get either for a second rounder and beyond.

Kerr and Burgoyne will be much more expensive, something along the lines of 1st rounder + one of dawes, mccarthy etc.

It's funny that fans rubbish players when they chase the dollars but are apparently willing to adopt a supermarket approach to getting new players.

Rocca has gone. Presti really needs to be given a lot of thought. Ben Johnson showed some good tagging qualities but doesnt tackle and still doesnt kick accurately enough. Chris Bryan is just not tall enough. Ryan Cook has been given opportunities and so has Danny Stanley.

As for trading, then Didak needs to be considered, because of his history and his shortcomings in the finals Josh needs to be told that he needs to move from first ruck and if he isnt willing, then trade him. Johnson might be traded too.

Next year will see the introduction of Reid into the backline and Dawes up forward. If they cant hold their places, then I would consider trading them next year.
