Who has to go at seasons end? Not trades (almost every player is a possible trade) but those players who need to make room.

Heres my list
O'Bree
Davis
Nixon
King
Williams
Kinnear
McKee

DEFINITES
Davis
Williams
Kinnear
McKee

MAYBES
O'Bree
King
Nixon (although he has been described as 'Little Buckley')

Spot on hotpie. I'd try and get something for the likes of O'Bree though. I'd also have a look at Shak and make a call there.

He's been getting a kick regularly in the 2's for weeks now, so I've softened my hard line attitude to him. If he doesn't embarass himself (a-la Nixon) in the seniors I'd keep him another year.

Someone stupidly contracted Kinnear for 2005 so he won't be delisted although he should be.

Obree and Leon wouldn't be delisted still having something to offer. Could be traded though.

Williams and McKee are the only definites I can see getting delisted.

Also would be very harsh not to give the likes of Nixon, King and the Shack a third year and preseason.

Cheers

Trade bait, if not delist
Davis
Williams
R.Shaw

Which leaves a total of 5 list changes (assuming Wakes and Burnsy go around again).

No need at all to axe Bo, Kingy or Shack - give the kids a bloody go before calling for their heads.

All three have shown good touch in the VFL at stages - they just need to take their chance.

My oppinion is that Lokan and Tex should be offered for trade for some mid-range picks, but I don't think that will happen.

Why wouldnt they???

Well they'll both be 31 next year, and Burnsy already said he 'had to dig deep to find the motivation to go around again' at the end of last year, so I'm basing it on that.

I'm guessing they would both be 99.9999999999999% chances of playing next year, all the same.

Don't friken say Burns won't play next year or we'll have to shut up shop.

No Burns, no Collingwood.

My Delistings would be:

Williams
Kinnear
McKee
Davis

Some players mentioned in posts before would be harsh to be delisted. EG - King, Shack, Nixon and O'Bree.

The Second year players deserve another go, King is in favour with the pies. Nixon already named "Little Buckley" and Shackleton being close to BOG for the last five Matches. Its hard to see them being delisted but ya never know.

O'Bree is a Pretty Good Player in my Oppinion. Most on this Board say he is a Craphouse player. I do not agree with them. i beleive most people say this on the board just to be like everyone else and bag him. Be Yourself, If you like one player say you do and don't follow the rest of the people.

with the kinnear contract drama moving into next season, i cant see why they would offer him up too someone for a speculative draft pick, and say to that club collingwood will pay his salary
i wouldnt mind that personally
davis, o'bree, williams, mckee will all be offered around
lokan also perhaps
as a hypothetical: say port lose carr to freo, lokan could be offered there, he is a port boy stolen right from under there nose, and sure he is definitely no carr but could fill the breach a little
thats actually pretty stupid but you never know

im just hoping there will be some additions this year
and also that we keep the kids and dont trade them

Happy to offer kinnear around but balme looks funny enough without getting laughs for his trade suggestions. He is woth zero to anyone. The only chance is that someone will offload their dud on a Bourke type deal so we pay Ben's salary because they need the money that badly. Won't happen but if it did it would be pointless anyway.

And those who call Nixon a "little Buckley" are as wrong as those that say Didak is a Daicos clone. Buckley won a Magary and Oatey before he placed in Brisbane's B&F and won the rising star all before we got him. If he was anything like in Buckley's class we know it by now.

SENIOR PLAYERS

Leon Davis
Andrew Williams
Luke Mullins
Luke Shackleton
David King

MAYBES (but better not be)

Shane O'Bree
Rhyce Shaw
Ben Kinnear
Tristen Walker

Kinnear and Leon signed 2 year contracts at the end of last year which means they cannot just be simply cut, unlike someone like Williams who would be on his last year(?).

We could pay them out to get 2 spots on our list for the draft like we did with Steinfort though.

I personally think it's worth it.

They can be cut.
It just means a club has to come to terms with a settlement in relation to the time left on their current contract.
Kinnear is (reportedly) on 100K a year.
Collingwood cut him and offer him 50k or someother agreed amount - and - he's outta here.

Kinnear is on 100k? WTF? It just keeps getting worse. What did we back load a performance contract or something? Surely 100k is way over the odds.

If that is true then someone has seriously mismanages finances and list management. In all seriousness if true then who is accountable for such an obviously incompetent decision?

Do the maths what did we pay last year near $7 million in player payments. Divide by about 42 that gives you around $160,000 average total payment per player.

Now we might think the likes of Kinnear and Cloke are duds but what do you think they are on if we are paying out around $7 million in player payments per year?

Given we have a stack of juniors and rookies on our list this is the reality of what we are paying these sorts of blokes.

Hence why I s****** when we signed J Cloke (probably round $150,000) just like I did when we signed Kinnear (probably around $100,000.

Reality is we couldnt give them away but are paying big dollars for them.

Its a joke.

Understudy I would have hoped we were front loading contracts and creating cap space for the next 2 or 3 years so we could recruit a player or two. If we are just giving it to Kinnear and co then we are hopelessly mismanaged.

Who knows. I've heard the club played pretty hard ball with BJ but then I hear numbers like this for Kinnear and J Cloke.

Is it the Balme factor, stuffing up contracts just like trades?

Either way time his position is reviewed and the club has a good hard look at his performance, that of the recruitment department and whole football department for that matter.

I hope Kinnear gets traded. I hope someone sees that given enough chance he can be a valuable player, like i do. Contrary to what a lot of you think, giving a player a game, watching them play 2 better than average games and then a poor one(along with a few other players) and then dropping them isnt given them a chance. Having a player playing fair football in all his 2003 games and really well in a preliminary final, only to follow that with a four possession in the first 10 minutes of the first qtr in a grand final and then sat at the bench for the remainder of the game and not playing them rd1 the following year isnt giving him a chance. I hope, like all of you, that BK goes somewhere else but because he needs to be given a chance.
