Just heard on the news that Delta Goodrem has been diagnosed with cancer.

Thats bad luck- seemed to just be getting her career underway- big setback.

Delta Goodrem diagnosed with cancer

Pop sensation Delta Goodrem has been diagnosed with cancer, her family says.

The Neighbours star and singer, who has been dubbed the next Kylie Minogue, was diagnosed with the treatable Hodgkin's disease following a series of tests last week.

She is undergoing treatment for the cancer.

Goodrem, 18, assured her fans she would be back on the music scene as soon as her treatment was completed.

In a written statement, the singer thanked her fans for their support.

"I want to assure all my fans that I will be fine and I will be back just as soon as my treatment is completed," Goodrem said.

"Knowing that I have your love and support is making a huge difference and I look forward to seeing you all very soon."

The haematologist from Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital who is treating Goodrem said her prognosis was good.

"Further testing is still under way but at this stage, given the early detection, the outlook in such instances would be positive," the doctor said.

Hope she gets well soon. I don't particularly care for her kind of music, nor would I listen to it, but you hate to see this kind of thing happen to anyone.

Good luck to her. I actually quite like her album! Perfectly decent pop album, and apparently she plays piano and has written at least some of the stuff on it. Puts her ahead of a lot of other "artistes"... I've had a lot of time for her since seeing her great work ethic - like spending hours signing autographs for the kiddies in Melbourne and sydney etc. Oh, and kicking the winning goal in the celebrity match at the SCG a few weeks back too

Seems to have her head screwed on right - I reckon she will come out of this alright.

Oh man thats really bad news, she is such a lovely talented young lady and i for one really cares about her. Her album is really good, and she cares a lot about her fans.I hope she gets over this and comes back real soon, and takes on the world.

Delta is a Very talanted yound lady, and the fact that she writes all her own lyrics and can play the piano puts her miles ahead of the rest of the crap out there.

Ex-neighbours girl who has embarked on a music career like those before here. Except while she like most of them are good looking, she is the best singer of the lot by far. Take Holly Valance - good looking, but cannot sing for sh*t with that down boy crap. Holly is probably the best looking, but her videos are tasteless. Overall Delta is the best IMO.
