Given what happened the last time Demetriou publicly criticised Roos, get on the East Bulldogs to win the U-16 premiership!!

Was just about to say, even if Roos did the right thing, the fat prick would still have a go at him. Still holding a grudge over being made to look like a complete dick in '05.

In terms of "is it appropriate to comment". Why would he worry? This is a bloke who condones comments on obvious umpiring errors being banned because its bad for the integrity of the game yet quite happily slagged off the brand and saw it as ok.

Checking on your player is one thing (though going onto the field of play is not a good look for any coach at the junior level, let alone an ex-coach at the very top level), then remonstrating with an opposition player is another.

You got no idea what actually happened do you? You just want to sound like a know it all from the little bits you read.

hearing is in half hour, like I said on the mainboard, its amazing there are so many quick to condemn Roos for trying to help the kid than there are having a crack at the kid who put the other kid in hospital or the violence in general.

The whole trainer thing Ive been banging on about has opened up a whole can of worms.

I don't see why anyone has a problem with Demetriou making comment about this issue. Its an incident that has been widely reported in the media and he was asked a direct question about it. There is no way that he could have condoned Paul Roos going onto the ground, because if he did it would suggest that this was appropriate behaviour at junior footy matches. Which it most definitely isn't.

So he made a comment over 5 years ago that he didn't think Sydney would win a premiership playing such an unattractive style of football. He was wrong. As were thousands upon thousands of other people involved in AFL (either professionally or as a fan).

Some people on this board need to get over that.

Now for all the feathers this has ruffled in both directions I believe Roos got a reprimand. Seems to have been handled appropriately and proportionally by the SFL tribunal. Good work there.
