Well since we had such a brilliant trading week, its now to turn to the next question (thanks eka! :D ):

WHO's GONNA BE DELISTED!

We are pretty much guaranteed of taking 4 or 5 kids in the draft and one player in the pre-season draft, making 5 or 6 departures. Who they gonna be?

My tips:

Kemp - Retired)
Donnelly - Retired)
Turnbull - Delisted or retired
Antonowicz - Delisted
Hunter - Delisted
McIntosh - Retired

Thats six, the number we need to get rid of. What does everyone else think?

Vis

I agree with the first four, but suspect that McIntosh will play another year (mostly at full back) and Hunter may be given another chance. He has the ability, but from what I've heard has a small brain.

Don't know who else would go instead, but Harding and Green are possible, as is Cummings and anyone with a suspect injury record who may not make it back (which probably covers most of our squad).

I agree with the first 4
Also, either 1 or both or Wilson and/or Cummings will be delisted, especially if we are going to pick up Polack and promote Buszan
Don't know about Hunter, but he is definately a possibility

We all know that we have not recruited anyone. So we shouldnt cut back the list to hard. There is no use making up the list with very late draft picks. Otherwise we will end up with more of the same. Unless we need more room in the salary cap to pay the better developing players in order to retain them.

We just might have to stick with Hunter and Antonowicz for now. I think we should anyway.

As long as we dont have the borderline players on expensive long term contracts nothing is too permanent.

And that goes for Cummings and Peter Matera as well.

So keep the delistings to a minimum. (Now that we havent picked up any trades)

GO EAGLES!

The first four yes.
Add Harding makes five.
Promote Buszan and Miller makes a nett three.
Pick four in the draft and one in the pre-season draft means we need to delist another two.

mmm......3 full forwards... one has to go...Scotty or BB

Now who else?

mmm....mmmm....hard choice. I think Milli will go okay for another two seasons. Roo is worth another season and Jako is okay for two. All the youngsters are worth keeping bar Antonowitz.

mmm.....I can't decide.........let's increase the list to 50 :D

Antonawitz has been delisted, and Cummings will be next.

I doubt it. I think he will go into preseason training along with a few delisted players from elsewhere and a decision will only be made just before the preseason draft whether to delist him or not.

One possibility is that he may choose to nominate for the national draft as an out of contract player. Geelong could potentialy pick him up with their first pick if they wanted ( and had agreed with him beforehand)

I totally forgot about Harding and also forgot that we could be promoting rookies off the rookie list. Well I assume the people to join the senior list will be:

National Draft pick #3
National Draft pick #6
National Draft pick #22
National Draft pick #38
Promotion off rookie list: Buszan

And the possibles of:

National Draft pick #54
Promotion off rookie list: Miller
Promotion off rookie list: McCarrey

Thats means we have to get rid of at least five current players in our squad and a possible three others. This is even before considering the WC veterans as they make things complicated. Also, are the squad numbers being changed for next year?

Vis

This year you could have 38 plus 2 veterans i think but next year its 40 including the veterans, so effectively the lists have not increased at all no.
A certain number of players have to be drafted by each team and we will surely promote Buszan plus if we want to keep Miller, which i would strongly suggest we should, then thats 6.
Harding, Antonowicz Delisted
Donnelly, Kemp Retired
1-2 more delistings required, or retirements.

Also, I think the deadline for delistings is October 31, for at least a few anyway as each team has to draft a certain number of players as stated above, so i would guess we would do all our delistings by then, but my guess is you can still delist after that too, and pick them up in the preseason draft.

Well we know for sure that 4 are gone in Antonwicz, Kemp :( Donnelly and 99% sure Harding.

Turnball could also go with Gardy, Seira, Cox, McDougall all capable of rucking. VOR, i strongly disagree with Green, i think he is our second best youngster behind Haynes.

Ive lost patience with Hunter and possibly Munro...should be interesting, i just hope we keep Scotty and we keep Green.

Green with envy....

I quite like Green - saw his first game in Sydney when he scored a goal with his first or second kick - but I've heard by rumour that he's on thin ice. The thing to remember is he's not a youngster - he's 22, 10 days younger than Chad Fletcher. He was promoted off the rookie list. Whereas Hunter is 20 and Munro only 19 (and clearly expected to further develop physically). Now age isn't everything - I'm Wilson's biggest fan - but I suspect that Green will be a lineball for delisting.

Well i thought he was pretty safe...looks to me that he has played some good footy this season but i suppose you are right. He is 22 and Cousins is 23 and look at the difference.

Still i hope we keep him.

I think that Green will stay. He plays allright when he gets a game. Its not like we have to delist people cause they only play 10 odd games a season. A club needs someone to come in and fill out and thats what Green does, an he is usually quite good at it. When is the deadline for delisting anyway?

I agree that Kasey Green should stay at the club. He played some great games with East Fremantle and was unfairly overlooked for the first half of the season with the Eagles (similar to Haynes). If I had to pick between delisting Green or Hunter I'd have to say Adam Hunter, because in the games I've seen him play, he hasn't impressed me in anything he has done (although his form with Swan Districts was ok this year).
