hey guys.
Once again I find myself out of work. I was looking to start a plumbing apprenticeship, but my age (28) is becoming a negative in finding anything. Had a 6 week trial, but due to an issue in the company, I’m now without direction.

If anybody has anything, I’d appreciate it. I’m getting married next year, and weddings don’t pay for themselves.

I’ll pretty much do anything, office work, labouring, even cleaning

Good luck MM. Never let age deter you. I was too old at 57 to get work in Australia, so moved here and worked for twelve more years. Had some tough times throughout my younger days too. Never give up.

Good luck, I know it's not easy. If you can join a footy club, the cfa, anything.. Even a chess club it doesn't matter, people have told me that often helps. It gets you out and about so you're not isolated at home. But the main thing is that it expands your network of people. They call it the hidden job market. Someone will need someone or know someone who does and if they already know you and you're a good bloke it makes it alot easier for them to take a chance on you. It may take a while but it might be worth a shot. I hope things improve for you soon.
