What console are you guys on? I have about 8 mates who are currently playing on xbox with no dramas. Another friend picked it up on ps4 last night and was having some dramas.

We do have some issues with voice chat sometimes though

PS4. From launch until Saturday evening couldn't have been smoother. Since then mine has been total arse, constantly getting dumped back to orbit yet I can immediately launch at another location and still be talking over party chat without any drama. Had one instance last night where I was using just the in game chat with a mate and I got stuck loading between areas while flying around on my sparrow, it left the game hanging but we could still happily talk and I had to leave the fireteam to return to orbit and rejoin. PS4 is NAT 2 and checked my modem stats and everything is cherry ripe and within cable standards. Have read some reports that the Destiny servers are going nuts and sometimes sending data back through ports that aren't usually open so even if you're using UPnP or port forwarding on a static IP there may be interruption and Destiny's netcode isn't allowing more than a fraction of a moment of interruption before kicking you from your activity.

It's not happening to everyone and I know for a fact it is not my fault which makes it very frustrating. Two and a half years in this house, on this connection and not even the smallest hiccup when playing games online. I'll give it until the end of the month and hopefully they fix up their servers to satisfy the demand otherwise I may as well just trade it since it is very unplayable in its current state. A real shame because my lock is level 24 and I'm really enjoying it.

edit: sigh was booted again from just standing in the tower while writing this. update: can't even load the tower. Launch, loading, kicked.

edit 2: pingtest Telstra Melbourne: 0% loss, 11ms, 2ms jitter. Sydney: 0% loss, 24ms, 2ms jitter. New York: 0% loss, 234ms, 2ms jitter. Convinced it is Destiny servers and them sending info back through non-standard ports and I'm not stuffing around setting up a static network just to put my PS4 in the DMZ when it has never been an issue before.

Sounds strange, but I'm convinced that Destiny is messing with my wireless network. Just playing as I type this, get disconnected from the server and my PS4 tells me it's lost Wi-Fi connection. Look over to my laptop - no Wi-Fi connection. Check the PC (hooked up by ethernet) - connection is fine and can still load pages. This is some freaky shit.

No connection issues on PS4 for me but boy oh boy wowee this game is dull. I was expecting some cool shit to do once you hit LVL 20...... nope, "here's all those strikes you've already finished, now with enemies at LVL 20" :drunk:

Bad enough i grinded my way through the entire "story" pushing my way through hordes of re-skinned AI depending on what planet you were on. 6/10 game for me, saved only by co-op strikes and solid gunplay.

Crucible is pretty much use Fusion Rifles, Melee, Supers, Rockets, Tank vehicle or Shotguns and see who can 1 shot kill each other the most on some absolute cluster **** maps. Its cheap garbage and this is from someone who is actually good at the PVP side of things.

Good thing i held off entering the expansion pack codes, unless something drastic gets changed i'll sell them off before trading the game in.

Bitterly disappointed with what the game currently offers up.

I was having those dropping issues Friday and Saturday night... Played for a good stretch last night and no issues with dropping at all. Got to lvl20 and ran some strike missions. All good.

It's a bit like Watch Dogs IMO, massively overrated and nothing ground breaking or spectacular. It bores me to play it.

Yet you can sit there playing the farce called BF:4 :P

How is it similar? This game is massively over-hyped, I don't recall BF ever being that. It is what it is.

I was having the same issues 2 weeks ago with my internet. I called Optus and they sent down a technician to my house where he found some weather damage issues and fixed them up. Seems to be better since although FYI I've disconnected a few times on the PS4 Destiny servers.

How hyped a game is shouldn't matter just play them on their merits, lots of people love destiny. Lots don't. Just because it was built up and hyped doesn't change how good the game itself is

Sure it does, if you go into something with high expectations and it doesn't live up to it you feel it more than if you went in with no expectations.

Got it on 360, majority of friends have it on there.

Must say I'm having a blast with it, such a good game, is 10x better playing with people. I'm a lvl 6 hunter.

Great thing about it is it's only going to get better, the sky is the limit for this game.

This. Especially with that Activision money marketing the shit out of it. Who wouldn't be hyped knowing it was made by Bungie when they promised things like "all the terrain you see is playable"

Game fell way short of the hype and people are disappointed they got sucked in to it, very similar to Watch Dogs and Titanfall.

I decided to play solo and level up as I was too weak for the new missions and it's such a grind with little exp reward.

Don't play solo, that's 99% why you don't like the game.

True. Can't wait to get to the missions where you do exactly the same as the first mission. "Shit, I need to scan this for 10 minutes whilst you fight waves of mobs".

Anyone on PS4 up for a Moonstrike? Except no killing the boss; I need Xyor the Unwed to spawn. For that to happen, we'd need to keep killing enemies in the boss arena til he comes.

I get the feeling if Destiny wasn't released in such a dull period of releases there wouldn't be nearly as many people zealously trying to defend it. As it stands, hasn't been much else released for the new consoles of note so people are more easily content as they just want something to play.

My net is fine in every other aspect. I live in a town house estate only a few years old and thought maybe some of the recent weather here caused a cable pit to flood or something but my cable signal is around +2.1dbmv and SNR and everything else within limits. I have run ping tests and have absolutely no packet loss. I don't have my network set up as static but out of curiosity I forwarded all appropriate ports to the IP my PS4 was on and it was still garbage. All I can put it down to is some issue with the exchange of info between my closest Bigpond cable exchange and the Destiny servers. Their netcode doesn't allow for any packet interruption which is why it boots anyone back to orbit without disconnecting them from the game. Surely they will fix this.

If I have any issues again tonight I'll call Bigpond to see if they have any ports on their end to me blocked that shouldn't be. Might have to also hunt down the actual IP address of the node that Destiny is on so I can run a trace. Really peed off because I love this game. Had no problems through the beta or at launch. Only started playing up Saturday and right when I get to level 24 and on the brink of endgame.

No, it's just that people like you are spoiled and packed to the brink with first world problems. There are far faaaaaar worse games you can get for $55, like inFamous, but constantly complaining about those won't fulfill your hipster urges.

Can we get another thread for Destiny complaints? Some of them are getting really cringeworthy and none of them are adding anything new to the debate.

Yes there are far worse games games out there, doesn't excuse Destiny for being soulless. Like it or not, people expect more from Bungie.

Lol what?

Sorry but this thread isn't made so we can all have a giant circle jerk over a game. Those that aren't impressed have the same right to post as those that want to have it's baby.

If you don't like it go make a private PM and gush as much as you want.

Like it or not, it's called a 10 year project for a reason.

Like it or not, nobody wants to hear you whinge about the same things over and over again.
