Thanks for putting the smiles back on all blues supporters faces. You saved our club and, though not in the eyes of other club supporters, given our club back respect. All the best to the Pratt family in this time

Thankyou for saving the CFC Richard.

Our thoughts are with you and your family

Who gave this thread 5 stars ???

It's horrible, horrible news ..
You can take those rankings two ways. Are you ranking the news in terms of how you feel about it or are you supporting the sentiment in the thread.

Any thread expressing how saddened people are by this situation could be 5 stars in terms of support.

All about perception.

When I stepped down as moderator, the thread got 5 stars too IIRC. That doesn't mean people were happy I had gone .... or does it?

A truly sad day for both the CFC and society itself. I wish you well Dick, and your family.

I truly cannot thank you enough for the contribution you have made to our club.

Very sad news.

Thanks for being the great Carlton man that you are.

The Carlton football club will always be greatful as will the Carlton Members and supporters, thank you for putting us back on the right path.

Good luck in your battle our thoughts are with you and your family.

Yes we were all overjoyed that you had stepped down. But, oddly enough, we are all even happier that you have stepped up again.

That's why I like you all so much ... you're as perverse as me.

Gilly, Thy, guns ... that is perverse, not perverted. Nothing to see here.

You know, I was waiting for the court case to be over and for Dick to step back in to the seat Sticks was warming for him. Fight on Dick ...

This is so sad. His played a very distant but a pretty significant role in my life, I've never met him personally, never spoken to him or anything like that but my Dad works for him and I'll never forget the endless stories my dad has to share about the great man when he came home from work. He truly is a beautiful person with an enormous amount of generosity and lets not forget, his love and support for The Carlton Football Club.

My thoughts go out to Richard and his family.

I actually keep forgetting we have Sticks as the caretaker pres rather than Dick. I don't think he can now but I hope he does too :thumbsu:

Just on the news about Dick. A stream of friends and associates visiting all day. Including the Carlton Board and players.

Dick may be seriously ill, but apparently he still has his sense of humour.
When the Carlton players fronted up he reportedly said to them "So, what the bloody hell happened last weekend?"

Fight on Dick.

Geez, I want to see some motivation from the boys this weekend. They can't dwell on this but they can use it.

Do it for Dick!

Very sorry to hear this news on my way home from work :(

I wish Dick all the best and sincere heartfelt thoughts go out to his family and friends being with him through this difficult time. He is a truly great Carlton man.

For us Blues fans i suggest a Detour from the Main board thread on this subject as i myself had to hold back in replying to the trolling uneducated comments regarding Dick and the lack of respect shown. ( I thought BF was better than this). You will only get carded responding to the sh!t and lies on there and that doesn't do anyone good. I mean FFS the guy is Gravely Ill and cops it from all angles from the Keyboard warriors who know SFA about anything especially legal matters.

As ODN said Cmon Blue Boys do it for Dicky this weekend.

N.B The thread in the Bay is No better. Fcuk it makes me angry.

Lets hope he holds on for the weekend, and the blues get up for him one more time.

The man saved the club that I love.

Farewell

Not meaning to crush anyone's hopes here but he had an operation to remove the cancer and has gone back in for them to check they have removed it all.

To hear he is coming home gravely ill means only 1 thing, they didn't get all of the cancer out and it has spread through his body and with his age he would most likely die on the operating table trying to remove it so he has come home to die in peace.

He may last a month, a week or he could be dead tonight my grandfather had the exact same thing happen and he was dead within a few days, I hope he gets a chance to say his goodbyes to all his family and watch the blues at least 1 last time and I hope the boys thump the Dogs for Pratt this week.

Sad news indeed, came to our rescue when we were almost down and out. I think he will come back as President, bigger and better than ever. Get well quick Mr. Pratt, there is always hope.

I'm sure the CFC would never have folded, we have too many supporters that would have helped out. What Pratt has done for us though, has been remarkable. The transformation and boost in morale just after a few weeks of him being back in an official role will was extraordinary. He put us back on track for number 17!

Hopefully he can hold out for Sunday and the boys deliver a big win :thumbsu:

He bought leadership and direction into CFC when it was needed, there's not doubting his love for the Blues, it;s a sad time for his family and loved ones.

Motivation for the Blues this week.

Thoughts go out to the Pratt family at this terrible time.I went through the same experience with my father. It's tough, the not knowing, the when or if.
Pratty loves the Blues as the Blues and supporters love him.
Bring Sunday on and flog the Doggies for Dick.

very sad news. keep fighting dick. thoughts are with the family. when it does happen im sure his spirt will live on though the carlton football club. the greatest club on the planet. thankyou for everything you have done for the community and the cfc.

The true messiah to all our woes. Pratty you superstar. Thoughts go out to him and his family and heres hoping the boys put in a performance to make you proud.

Sad news. Hope he comes right again but it is never easy at his age. If the worst happens, it might pay to steer clear of all the gloating character assassination threads on the main board and the Bay.

After promising any confession would not be used against him in the future during the civil case, it is clear Graeme Samuel has almost hounded Pratt to death. Champagne corks all round in the ACCC offices I'm guessing. :(
The BIG C is always a big scarey monster
Pratt was always a gentleman with me. Inspirational man in business and for CFC. I for one am very saddened
