If you are at the video store looking for a comedy or new release, DO NOT pick up Dickie Roberts. It's the biggest piece of crap I've ever seen, even worse than the Adelaide vs Kangaroos game a few weeks back.
Even though I though Joe Dirt was ok, in this film David Spade is simply not funny. The kids he lives with are overbearingly saccharine - at first I thought them being cast in the roles was supposed to be a bit of a p1ss-take on the brady bunch, but I think we're actually supposed to find them endearing. Also the next door neighbour can't act if her life depended on it. The family he moves in with are supposed to be broke, yet they live in a flash house in an upper middle class neighbourhood. There is maybe one or two good jokes in the whole film (and actually they were slapstick sequences). This film is a rip-off of the premise of Billy Madison, but far worse.
