Cant wait for this kid to come back, no question Dick is in our best 22. His forward line pressure will complement our game style this year perfectly.

I wonder if MM is planning to move Davis up into the midfield to add to the rotations, drop Mcaff and slip dick into the forward pocket..
Will add more potency having both davis decision making in the midfield and Dicks pressure in the forward line. Then i believe we are at full strength:thumbsu:

could have used a better term there :D but I think Davis needs a run in the VFL. Bring in Biggins to prove himself.

I've always rated Dick highly, stating a few times that he is close to the most naturally gifted player we have at Collingwood (McCarthy and Didak are his competitors).

He adds that "X Factor" that Leon seems to be missing this year, and is so badly needed by us, especially in big games.

As it turns out, he was another injured player in the finals series last year (shoulder) although I believe just experiencing what finals are all about will hold him in good stead come September this year.

Having Dick walk into the team mid season is such a bonus for our club, he will boost the spirits of everyone around him, and take a heap of pressure off Leon.

I'm hoping he is back for the Dogs game next week, but I'd say the Dees game is more likely.

Depending on how he looks this weekend, get him in the side for WB. For me that is our must win for us, even more so than the Cats game was. We need to demonstrate that our Rnd 1 win wasn't an abberation and that we can take down the dogs a second time. Something needs to change regarding Davis, it's an absolute sin that a player of Leon's capacity isn't playing his best footy, and I think in order for that to happen he needs to be in the mid now. To think almost half a season will go by without us seeing Davis' best form is a scary idea, but on the upside, just means we'll have more up our sleeve in the latter stages.

Drop Davis - bring him back with dick when he is fit - Davis needs to find form and needs to be in the midfield.. I say drop him till Dick is fit, then put them both in. Perhaps Barham could provide that spark we need.

I'd say we won't see Dick back in the team till at least after the mid season break.

I know people mean well and try to be funny, and i'm not kidding here, but jokes linking certain Collingwood players and referring to the male genitalia should almost warrant warnings etc they are that repititive.

Anyways, Dick will be awesome for us when he gets back. His elite foot skills and his deadliness around goals means that he will make us a better football side. He would have been very good for us against the Cats. He probably needs a few weeks in the two's still and such is our depth we can afford to keep him there for now.

Dick looked very rusty last week and the 2 goals he kicked were lucky. He would need to star in the VFL this week to warrant a recall. We could use him in the forward line with others down or injured.

Jaxson Barham should come in for O'Bree. It would be a no brainer if there wern't other players set for a recall, namely Fraser, Presti, Medders and possible Lockyer.
Wellingham came in for Anthony, leaving us a marking forward short. If O'Bree comes out, it should be for Anthony right now until Dick is fully fit.

All bringing in another midfielder does is leave Pendlebury at half-forward and limit Wellingham's midfield time.

No more Dick jokes then?

Nah, his return means the Dick jokes just increase in magnitude, and we will soon hear football commentators Australia wide resorting to primary school level jokes, which always livens up the coverage.:thumbsu:

So if you want to card us for Dick jokes, get ready, because all we will have to do is post audio segments from pies games.

With the whole media beat-up over players impregnating "school girls" being shown up as nothing more than opportunistic "editorial" licence and the use of emotive over exaggeration I the see the way now clear to get Dick straight back in.:thumbsu:
