Just had a look at Dimma's post match presser for round 22 and he is a gun. Put on a masterclass for guys like Mick Malthouse. Honesty, humour, humility, and actually communicated some information.

Looks like we have struck gold with this bloke. He's putting together a good gameplan, he's had a look at almost the entire list, he's given the club confidence, he empowers his colleagues and players and he's very driven and realistic.

Looking forward to the next few years with Dimma at the helm. Thank god he had laptop issues at the Bombers.:)

He's always in a good mood because he knows he has a quality list for the future. Well he will in a couple of months after the latest cleanout and draft period. Hit the gym hard and get all our undersized players to the right size and we'll be a decent chance to squeeze into the 8 next season. We should be expecting close to 50% win/loss ratio next season

Wait until we get better and start going in as favorites (was Saturday the only time we started favorite this year? Maybe West Coast).
It's always easy to look cool and relaxed when you are under no pressure.

When we have a poor run, and the press starts asking the nasty questions, and sites like BigFooty blow up, then we'll see.

Don't judge a man by his actions when things are easy. Judge him by his actions when things are tough.

i dont know i thought he did really well when we were 0 and 9 and were rated as bad fitzroy and sportsbet paid out for the wooden spoon and when we got hammered by Geelong. thinking about he hasnt changed since his press conference when he got the Job, some how i think he will be the same no matter what.

0 - 9 and being hailed as the worst team since fitzroy doesn't count as things being tough?

When has anything been easy this year? Was there any thought behind that comment or was it just needlessly negative? We started favourites 4 times this year if I remember correctly; Melbourne, West Coast, Brisbane and Port.

Err, we came 15th. :thumbsu:

Yeah, Hardwick had an easy year. :thumbsu:

Surely this is a troll, nobody could be this stupid. :thumbsu:

Hardwick had an easy year. No coach gets pressure applied to him in the first year of his tenure. Even if we didn't win a game all season, none of the pressure would have been on Dimma.

We came 15th, and yet people were nominating him as coach of the year. If that doesn't show he's had a pretty good wrap from the press then nothing will.

First year coach = honeymoon period..... how long will he have before the ferals want results?....

Knights got the the Bombers back into the eight in his second year and was gone the year after, basically improving to quickly then going backwards a bit.

Will DH be under similar pressure?

At the end of the day we finished 15th..... on that result he if far from a success. Infact we should still be critical of our result.

The first 9 games were are write off... and rightly so. Lots to undo from the previous football department. But would we except a similar period of losses next year?

Things can turn quickly on a coach... Dh hasn't really hasn't put a foot wrong to the eyes of the us supporters.... except we finished 15th.

This year I can admit I am going to miss watching the Tigers play on the weekends, and listening to Hardwick's press conferences. I can't wait for next season to begin.

and I suppose things were dead ****en easy when we were 0-9 ya bloody boofhead, he's to be applauded for holding it all together as opposed to the meltdown poor old knighter and old choco both amounted to, analyse their respective pressers frame by frame and come back with a balanced view of how dimma performed undewr the same circumstances when we were on the end of hidings

look beyond the nose on your face and review the indvidual improvement in a host of players, from JR to Lids to edwards to Newman to connors to whitey to Kingy to Gus to Moore to Morton...I could go on and on err, I put that down to coaching:o

I think the point Wallably and -surprisingly- nut, were trying to make is that Hardwick won't have the same licence to fiddle around with things at the expense of actually winning football games and having to demonstrate his wares as a tactical and gameday coach, that he's had this year....and there were still a fair amount of ferals starting to panic when we were 0-3 after the Sydney shambles, let alone when we were 0-9....there's no way he'll get given the same amount of leeway or understanding if there's a repeat of it next year....though in essence he probably should still get at least a bit for at least the first half of the year again, such is the state of our list in reality still and where we're coming from...but this year he was in a unique position for an AFL , and particularly a Richmond coach in that he's virtually had a free pass...

Dimma has a pass for this year and i am happy with him so far but as Mario has pointed out ....

One thing i will say tough , Its one thing to compare DH to Malthouse and say that dimma has it all over him in that area . all well and good , but when Dimma can show us a "master class" of producing a top 4 team year in year out no matter what the state of the list ... then i will start fellating him , but not just yet .

I want to start seeing master classes where it counts most
