Don't get me wrong Mcdonald has always been a hero of mine and I'll never forget the great things he did for our club but I thought his shirtfront on Parker was very uncharacteristic. I don't recall him ever being suspended but I do recall he was an excellent tackler and a very fair player to boot
What I was wondering was what went through his mind, was he trying to lead from the front? or was it just the way he was told to impose himself out there? I didn't think it was wise of the commentators that night to praise the act as it was wreckless and dangerous.
I guess in hindsight everyone can see that now that Parker has been sidelined with a broken jaw, but even at the time I felt it was completely necessary and had it been Mumford or Goodes 2 weeks would have been way too lenient. What are your thoughts?
