I'm disappointed that we lost to Nth

They are a middle of the ladder side, and if we couldn't beat them, then it shows that we are not really there

Nth are not a top 8 side, and too lose to them today was not good...

Our forward line wasn't too good today, but what really hurt us was our lack of depth down back, espically with Luke getting injured and Norman not playing. We couldn't rotate our players enough, because we were reduced to a two man interchange.
That said, Anthony Koutoufides was really great, he played an excellent game, and Eddie Betts looks like a real good pickup.

North seem to go alright this time of the year. Besides I wouldn't discredit their efforts, they played well I thought. We had our opportunities and on another day we may've snatched the victory.

I thought it was good that we tried to run out the game. It would've been easy for us to just stop trying and have the goals piled against us when the game looked to be over. Considering the injuries we had, you have to give em credit for that.

I wouldn't hit the panic button just yet. We normally bounce back after a disspointing loss. I'm expecting to beat the Bombers next week, but it doesn't happen, then you can panic.

Meh. We were ok. Sooo many blokes down though. Grant, Harvey, Simpson, Harris and Wells were not great. Midfield still won though. Funny that......

Our Lance is better than yours, and ours is rubbish!!!

I'm to not very happy with todays performance.

However, we usually lose our first game.

Our defence is terribly underdone now, with Livo and Thornton both out. Obvousily we will have to bring Norman back in ASAP, but bugger knows why he didn't play today.

Fevola was probably the most disappointing thing other than losing, he dropped a few marks he would have taken a fortnight ago which is frustrating and it showed in his game.

Lance struggled. I just hope both can bounce back Friday and especially Lance, that he hasn't tried his heart out in the preseason and has ran out of steam already.

This Friday night will show us how we go for the rest of the year!

i don't think you can blame fev and lance for the loss. they both battled hard but our backline just played bloody well. colbert, brown, watt, makepeace, sinclair, pratt, archer all contibuted well. i though carlton spanked us out of the centre, you were just unlucky that our backine stood up. i must admit once livingston got injured thompson and rocca were hard to match up on and you might have one if not for your lack of depth in the backline.

Re a Positive after keepin an eye on todays games i am glad that we play Tigers and Hawks twice this year and hope this dosnt come back and bite me :D lol so at least thats a potential positive

Time for some facts pal,we played crap you didn't win we lossed it on our own,we will finsh much higher than your bottom 4 team, the sun shone on your dogs arse of a club thats all.

Go broke and go away poor arse club.

Make no mistake, the r00s are very average side.
The typically scrappy, ugly win they had on Saturday is about as good as its going to get for them.
North don't have a team or a gameplan that is going to play finals football, but they did have a gameplan to shut Carlton down, and to their credit they scrapped a win. Laidley certainly did his homework and the Blues didn't fire a shot all day.

I'm disappointed because I honestly feel it's a game we should have won.
As an aside I find it odd that the papers are saying Fev was rendered ineffective by Brown yet are gushing about Sav Rocca who only kicked one more goal than him while playing on a makeshift full-back for much of the game.

That is 110% correct. Rocca aint good he is just a fat thing in the kngas fwd line which i reckon is a waste of space. To all you kanga supporters he started kicking goals when livingston got injured and not when he was on.

It is simple we played crap i've watched it 3-4 times on Fox and we played bad just plain bad footy. The Roos were lucky to get us on a down day next time we play em we will pants them.

hmmm...considering the kangas were flooding the carlton forward line basically all day, and Whitnal, Fevola, Stevens, Campo and Houlihan hardly had an affect and the kangas only won by 20points....PRETTY CONVINCING WIN TO THE KANGAS

You really didn't see the difference?

Fevola kicked a goal five minutes in, a goal after sitting on the back of the pack after Brown dropped a mark, and a goal after the siren. He was nowhere to be found when the game was there to be won in the middle two quarters.

Rocca kicked four, set up a couple of others, and presented all day. He was consistently in front of his man and providing a target, and even missed a couple of shots he should have kicked.

Fevola was very lucky to walk away with three goals, while Rocca probably deserved more than the four he kicked.

For everyone saying we just caught the Blues on a bad day, do you think we played well? Very scrappy, low quality game of football highlighted by some brilliance from Betts and Wells. Both sides can play a lot better.

Well Rocca really did nothing until Livingston got injured.

Jeez you Carlton fans are harsh ey? Both clubs played poorly and talking about floods? Haha, some of the times there wasnt a player in your half. Simpson, Grant, Harvey, Harris all played below par and we still won. Carlton are on the rise, but stop making excuses.

Its really funny how you have to resort to petty insults just because you cant accept the fact that you lost.

Nice and mature

Oh yeah............................Well get stuffed then..............................

If Kangeroos plan to play 21 more games like that then they'll overtake Sydney as the most boring team in the AFL. Good on em though, they probably weren't gonna beat us any other way. A good experience for our youngsters though. Hopefully in the future we'll learn how to win ugly.

Did you conveniently ignore Pagan's tactics then? We had a ridiculous amount of possessions in the third quarter just because we were chipping it around, with 16 Carlton blokes in our attacking 50.

Sore losers the lot of you, good to bring you back to earth.

It was a dead boring scrappy game from both sides and we both have a long up and down type season ahead of us.

Good luck to the Kangas for out scrapping us they took advantage of our major weakness and that being lack of quality tall defenders.

For mine the biggest worry wasnt on the field with the Kangas it was the lack of noise that was made when they scored a goal.

Seemed of the 40000 crowd there may have only been 12-15000 kangas fans there.

Not sure how their membership is going but if saturdays game was any indication it cant be that high.

ya that seems about right.
They don't have a big supporterbase, you don't have to rub it in. The crowd was big because people came to see the Blues.
