I had a great time at the Derby and most of the Eagles supporters around us were great, a couple of young blokes were getting into the Freo supporters and were copping it right back, all of it in good fun!

Got to work this morning though and one of the young guys I work with (18 yrs old) had a black eye. Turns out a really big Eagle supporter sitting in front of him turned around and asked what team he was supporting, when he replied "Dockers" the guy punched him right in the face without any warning. My friend hadn't spoken once to the guy up to this point and is generally pretty quiet and friendly. He then went to let the security know what had happened and the Eagles supporter tried to stop him. The security came down and the guy head butted one of them and was then dragged out by the police!

I've never seen anything so gutless by any supporter, even when in Victoria surrounded by feral Pies supporters. Is this a one off or does this happen a lot and I'm just unaware of it?

There seemed to be peace between the two camps until the London derby. Then everything went crazy again! It seems to have only built up over the pre-season with BBB and John Worsfold coming out saying he thought the dockers box was the toilet, it seems both coaches need to come out to the public and try settle people down again. I think we're just as guilty of it as the eagles supporters I'm afraid to say!

Sorry about that I was just a bit ********ed off.

i saw security called to about three incidents near me & a eagle work colleague was involved with a feral freo supporter giving the finger to his 80 year old mum - so bad eggs both sides -yes i've never seen so much agro at a derby i think it was too much beer by some due to the heat

Onya feral freo supporter.

How strange, an eagle granny getting the bird.

Those eagle grannies are the worst supporters in the history of sport. They are ignorant, have filthy mouths, and deady knitting needles, which I have been stabbed with on one occasion.

True story.

i think i may have seen that... was it last quarter ... kinder behind the goals at the city end?

Is that being put forward as justification for what janiek's describing?

I agree about the aggro. I thought there was going to be some biffo behind me at one stage, which I've never encountered in ten years of derbies. The heat in the stands must have been a factor, it really was something else.

I think the heat was a factor, for sure - (plenty of uncomfortable, fidgety, cranky people), but more so, the events of the last few weeks in the eagles camp seems to have set off a few tempers in the crowd. Add to that a one-sided shellacking and you get some biff amongst the fans. Not many derbies are so one-sided, you'll find these are the games where a few individuals in the crowd lose a bit of self-control. Throw in some alcohol (yes, please) and fights will happen (no thanks).

The odd flipped digit at the odd granny is acceptable, because, fair dinkum, half the time it's the grannies flapping their gums which cause the problem.

They are not all sweet little old ladies, in fact a lot of them are downright evil.

I think that's where he was sitting! He's going to bring in some video footage of the guy getting tazered by the cops as they put him in the wagon today I think! Shouldbe kinda funny! :)

It was hot and there was alcohol which is not a great starting point. But the Eagles have pretty much had it their own way for a long time.
Sunday was without question the most comprehensive thrashing they have had from us, and perhaps from anyone for a while.
While they have been more than happy to ram it down our throats they do not like it when it comes back the other way.
Throw in Benny and Gardies problems, which served as great ammunition in the stands and all in all they were having a bad day.
I know the young lady, girl, female near me was almost in tears demanding that we lay off Benny and just let him play football. Yeah, right. Show more consideration for him and his team than he did??
And they even had the audacity to complain about the biased umpiring??? Are they real?

whether its our old ladies or theirs , i don't think it's acceptable to give them the finger - i would be really mad if anyone did it to my mum or to me for that matter - guess it's old fashioned /sexist view but i'm not comfortable at swearing at females no matter how provoked ( a knitting needle might be acceptable as justification though :) ) but then that's how these things escalate i guess try & ignore those knitting needles if you can or else your'll likely end up with both the needle & a tazer
