The awkwardly American title has flown under the radar a fair bit this year due to other titles perhaps being a bit higher budget and more well known, but that doesn't mean Dishonored is a dud in waiting. Could be the sleeper hit of the year. And so by request from Macquarie Eagle here is the thread for Dishonored.

From the ever growing and ever stronger publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer Arkane Studios, there's a fair bit of prestigious talent behind the scenes at Arkane that are working on this title that has a lot in the industry buzzing. A unique blend of First Person Shooting, Melee and Parkour as well as some nifty 'Powers', this Assassin's game is raising eyebrows because it's taking so many elements and trying to perfect them. The developer has also boasted that you could go through this entire game as an Assassin and not kill one single person!

Looking forward to this game. The open nature of how you can approach each individual mission really appealed to me. A bit like deus ex in that way. Each mission has multiple ways in which it can be completed.

Don't know if I'd say it's gone under the radar....I see a lot of people talking about this game on the net. Maybe in Australia? Neogaf has gone wild for this game also.

Funny interview going around where the creators discuss having to give the game a little overhaul to include hints on where to go next. Apparently the testers they used were so used to Halo/CoD/whatever that when a guard said they couldn't go upstairs they listened and just milled around doing nothing for hours instead of sneaking past him.

Borderlands 2 says HARRO!

I don't get why it's a 'breath of fresh air'. Deus Ex: Human Revolution came out last year and has many of the same systems in the game.

Deus Ex had pretty average combat though and favoured stealth players. From what I can gather from reviews and impressions it seems that this game doesn't have a bias towards a particular play style and rewards players equally whichever path they choose to go down.

Tempted to grab this now, watched a few reviews and it definitely looks the goods. Good to see the game is balanced enough that you can play it the way you want without being punished, unlike the shitty combat in Deus Ex.

What's the customisation like?

A few hours in and it looks promising. Playing on normal and so far hasn't presented a challenge, but with that being said, I have been slicing and blasting my way through instead of attempting the more difficult stealth route. There are definite similarities in game play to Fallout and Elder Scrolls, which is to be expected with Bethseda involved.

just watched a vid on IGN of all the different ways you can do the first mission, this just looks like my perfect game i cant wait!
im picking it up tonight, pretty shattered i got cricket tomorrow.
