just heard this band recently, there not bad, the song 'Down With The Sicknes' is probably my favourites, what are peoples thoughts of them?

Very very very solid band that I think would tear the house down live.

Have liked em since their debut 'The Sickness' came out back in 2000 i think. Very good debut. Dave has a unique sounding voice which suits it pretty well. Their second cd 'Beleive' was a good progression from the first. Much better song writing and some very good songs. Their latest cd 'Ten Thousand Fists' is one of the best albums ive ever heard. Great song writing, great riffs, great energy. Outstanding album.

Hope they tour here at some stage

yep very good band, down with the sickness is an awesome song but my favourite would have to be liberate.

For that whole Nu thing, they aren't bad. Only heard the first 2 albums and they are some reasonable players and i dont mind some of their grooves.

But his voice was a bit of a stumbling block for me. Kinda came across to me as a little bit forced and a bit too clean for my liking. And some of the noises he makes can be a bit hit and miss IMO. But as Macca said, it suits the vibe of his band well and i can see the appeal.

from 'ten thousands fists' ive downloaded guarded, stricken, and decadence and there all pretty good songs is there any other really good ones from that album?

When i first heard them they reminded me of Trivium. Are they a fairly new band because i havent heard much of them?

I agree they would rock live, i think a lot of bands nowadays are really trying to be great live bands like Trivium have said they are a live orientated band, which would help on a tour then subsequently sell more music.

Guarded and Stricken are pretty good. Guarded especially. Try 'Ten Thousand Fists', 'Deify' and 'I'm Alive' (the best song theyve done in my opinion) are very good tracks. Try 'Land of Confusion' as a reasonably good cover song

My favourite band at the moment i must say.

cheers mate

Meh, alright Nu Metal band. "Down with the sickness", "Fear" and "Liberate" are good songs, not a major fun of the rest. Far better Nu Metal bands out there then Disturbed though.

Yeah there a pretty good outfit, plenty of good stuff on the first two albums and Ten Thousand Fists is a great album. Their cover of land of confusion is quite interesting, I like it a bit more heavy. Probably my favourite track on the album at present is Sons Of Plunder.

They also do a reasonable cover of Fade To Black I hear.

They are okay. Personally, I am not a fan of Dave Draiman's style of singing (or skat/rapping in verses, etc) but he does have a nice voice. Their latest album disappointed me, but their first two were solid.

heres a bit of an Interview with Pepper Keenan from Corrosion of Conformity.
StonerRock.com: How's it been going on [the DISTURBED] tour?

Pepper: "It's ********ing ridiculous. It's nothing… it's the dumbest thing we've ever done in our lives."

StonerRock.com: So you put "Albatross" back into the set — last time you played "Fuel" instead.

Pepper: "We're going to switch it around even more, but we just don't feel like it with the stupid crowd [at the DISTURBED shows]."

StonerRock.com: Those kids actually reacting well to your stuff?

Pepper: "I mean, it's over their head. The average DISTURBED fan is just a shopping mall… they're not music fanatics by any stretch of the musicians. I can't say that about everybody, but from what I've seen, they're just… Hot Topic kind of whatever. It's kind of a drag, because the standards of music get lowered by things like that. It ain't my place to say anything, but we consider ourselves to playing music of some degree. Off the cuff. We fall on our ass sometimes going on some of those jams and ********, but at least we're doing something. We're evolving somehow. If you ain't evolving, you ain't doing ********, in my opinion."

anyway, i don't like them.

i agree with Mr Eagle. I heard a cover they did of Nothing Else Matters. It was average at best

They also did a cover of Fade to Black which I didn't mind, though they didn't do the heavy bit  .

I think they are pretty good, Deify is a great song to get you pumped up.

They're not terrible, but from what I've heard (got some friends who are big fans and give the CDs a fair belt when I'm at theirs), they seem very one dimensional. But hey, AC/DC made a 30 year career out of that, so whatever floats your boat...
