That's what I was asking. Big game for them this week , but you would think Oakleigh are in the box seat and Ormond are playing for a double chance. Looking forward to the big lunch at the Gunn this week.

Just heard on the radio that an Oakleigh reserves player suffered a heart-attack during the game on the weekend, defibrillator was used and he is currently okay in hospital. Scary stuff.

Last week when SMS played them there was an older looking guy playing ressies who was carrying a bit around the middle, I wonder if it was him.

According to reports he offered to play as the Reserves were struggling to get the minimum 14 players required to fill a side. It doesn't bode well for the future of the club if they don't have young players pushing for a senior spot. Last week at their home ground they only had 17 starters and a couple of them look like they were well past their best. There has been a lot of discussion around the fate of Friars this year and last, but at least they have the school to work with, the non school affiliated local clubs are the ones with the real challenges in attracting players. On field success and a good club culture must be the starting points.

They have had problems with the junior body which ended up messy , with quite a few leaving for other junior clubs, including some hardworking parents. So not getting enough players coming through. Full credit to their seniors for just about making the finals.

FWIW St.Mary's to rest a few this week and play PEGS again the following week? Calculators in overdrive at Gunn Reserve if that is the case.
We are thinking the same, Dolan will be rested for sure. The ground will suit PEGS as they're not quick.

10 goal win last week, Dolan only kicked 3, Ryan kicked 6. They have many avenues to goal. Alexopolous has kicked a few. Jones back into the ones, always been a goal kicker.
