Really hard to work out a favourite for D3 at the moment

KEW UHSVU R CENTRALS ELSTERNWICK ST FRANCIS [putting in big strides] and Aquinas [Big improvers]??

Big games in the next 2 weeks before the bye will tell us heaps

UHS V Elsternwick & R C

AQUINAS V KEW & St Francis
 
A few good games it appears but would've been hard to top our clash with Richmond for MOTR. Good ball movement all day and not short of some intense physical pressure by any stretch. A lot sitting out from both teams from all reports and hence a good show of depth and the evenness of the competition. Be handy if we could go a couple of weeks without getting done by 80 points though.
 
Gee the slacks must be doing something for the Wickers with a surprise away win against Kew

Might start wearing them myself, even if the rest of the team doesn't follow suit

If Elsternwick win it this year I'm expecting all clubs in slacks round 1 after slacks win back to back flags.

Past Players Day always adds a few goals / some incentive as per St Kev's on the weekend v Old Brighton.

FWIW, heard there were a few interesting characters attend the D3 game, both male and female.

Heard in between smokes that Elsternwick wanted to play the game on their paddock to keep UHS on a MIDGET'S ground - Would have been great for players to play on the big ground b/c the surface is crap but their choice. Must have been a lunch b/c the supporters were "internally charged" & commonly loud!

Felt sorry for the Elsternwick player who either broke his leg/knee in the ressies + senior captain went down with a knee late in the game as well.

They chose to play on that dog park instead of Elsternwick Park???

I think that's a situation where the league should step in and show some authority. There's no way their actual 'ground' is suitable to play on.
 
If I played for that club I'd be embarrassed and annoyed knowing we had the choice.

Obviously a club that doesn't have any aspirations of moving up divisions if they're content with their own paddock.

Typical of this old timers mentality club. They've had so many opportunities to upgrade their ground and 'clubrooms'. Just how much money has been given out by the Goverment to sporting clubs for facilities! Now the players are denied the opportunity to show their wares on the beautifully surfaced Sportscover and its not taken. Admin need to look at other forward-thinking clubs in the same Division like Richmond (playing at Vic Park) and Kew (pavvy closed at the moment for upgrade).

I don't think you can comment on things you know nothing about.

Here are a few facts for you-

-Elsternwick have endevoured to play EVERY home game at Sportscover Arena this season, only to be shot down on most occasions.
-They regularly seek grants ex. from both the State and local governments only to be rejected.
-The VAFA re-scheduled the game to No2 not the EAFC

Should i mention that none of the UHSOB players attended the aftergame - I didn't even see an official. Maybe you should look in your own backyard before having a dip others!
