SMD and Elsternwick were clearly the best 2 teams in D4. They should have dropped AP and Westbourne and kept the traditional 2 up 2 down

From what I’ve heard - the other teams in the comp weren’t happy about the large gap and the big losses.

Canterbury did the same thing this time last season and didnt have the greatest of years. They're in EFL heartland there or close to so can go one of two ways. I feel as if Canterbury will be the team to bounce back. I expect SMD and Wicks to be very strong in D3. Westbourne & NB will struggle, otherwise an even season ahead I believe.
I wouldn't call Canterbury in EFL heartland 🤣 more like outskirts.

Any news around praccy matches? How are the teams looking heading into mid-March?

Looking at the clearances, I think this is the hardest Div to pick. Hawthorn, Parkside, Richmond & Emmaus all look to have remained strong, North Brunswick & Canterbury have recruited very well, Elsternwick and Sth Melbourne would have been more than competitive in this grade last year and don’t look to have lost much. Westbourne will probably be the strugglers. Still dumbfounded that there is 9 teams in Div 3 and 7 in Div 4

Tips
Richmond
Emmaus
Wicks
Hawks

Just in the nick of time...
Richmond too strong for NB
EStL over Canterbury
Wicks too good for Westies
SMD by 3 points over Hawthorn

Wicks & SMD with wins in round 1 coming up.
An interesting result with Canterbury getting up in the seniors while the magoos get pumped after kicking the first.

Wicks and SMD were very strong in D4, literally 10 goals better than anyone else. Given the abrupt end to the season I'd imagine both squads have "unfinished business" and are still hungry for a flag. I expect both clubs to make finals.

Seems like a relatively even season with Westbourne perhaps a bit behind the pace.

Hawthorn
Parkside

NB

Excited to see how Wicks go against one of the top 4 from last year after SMDs close win over hawthorn last week.
