just putting it out there, surely in the past teams have contained a player who's main (read: only) job is to go out there belt people. Dean Wallis getting the callup for the essendon grand final in 93 springs to mind...and last year it seemed like solomon pretty much set out to maul cameron ling in that game.
when we come up against a team with a player who either is tearing us up or generally does, why can't we have a player to just come in and apply the HARD tag? wallace could say, "righto player x, in you go, go and knock [abletts, judds, etc] head off, take your suspension at the tribunal and we'll see you in 8-10 weeks".
surely teams have toyed with this.
do you think any of our peripheral players would be suited to this role? i understand it couldn't be quite as obvious as how i put it above but you get the idea.
